  1. Has anyone considered installing one of the browsers that DOES work? It took Chrome a little over a week for it to work after the thread was started, now it works wonderfully. Just sayin'..
  2. It's in the thread about ACL too. Good set from the boys back in the day.
  3. Jack White and Tom Jones covering Howlin' Wolf: http://consequenceofsound.net/2012/02/check-out-tom-jones-evil-prod-jack-white/
  4. You might want to make an inquiry in this thread: http://viachicago.org/forum/29-in-a-future-age/. *** On another note -- and I'm not trying to single you out -- but is it just me, or does the "thanks in advance" phrase seem to be ubiquitous these days? I'm accustomed to seeing it (or any variations) on cover letters and business emails, but not in threads where people are trying to score copies of recordings... Maybe I'm just burnt out from doing nothing but transcribing interviews all day...
  5. I can't even imagine my own world without The Beatles, and I was born 30 years ago.
  6. It's on Spinner now. Maybe I should get back into these guys -- I snagged their first few records and then kind of forgot about 'em...
  7. It was 48 years ago today...doesn't quite have the same ring to it.
  8. Now, this isn't a rock concert -- it's a solo recital -- but nonetheless, a mobile phone becomes an awful intrusion and distraction for performer and audience. PUT DOWN THE PHONE, enjoy what's happening right in front of you.
  9. That's what always happens on ACL -- you only get a snippet. Maybe someday those full sets will be available...
  10. Jeff Tweedy playing "Millionaire," a Glenn Kotche/Nels Cline improvised set, or The Autumn Defense.
  11. It didn't. You're right. Poor reporting.
  12. In an interesting twist, I think the first Wilco review I ever read was on Pitchfork, for Kicking Television. And it was right after I had bought it the day it came out. It said "so this is what A Ghost is Born is supposed to sound like." And I thought AGIB sounded pretty damn good as is.
  13. I agree. They had to engage in their usual backlash against an artist they'd been praising for a few years. It still baffles me that W(TA) is the highest rated album after YHF.
  14. They just did a five-night run there in December to end the first leg of the tour.
  15. They still maintain that AGIB is Wilco's most "difficult" album.
