  1. All the time: Super Furry Animals Much of the Time: Dylan Wilco Sparklehorse Nirvana Queens of the Stone Age
  2. John Frusciante's a hell of a guitarist. The Chili Peppers are a great singles band, but I outgrew them long ago. Frusciante, though, is terrific.
  3. This. I said this in the Now Playing thread, but like him or not, he's made five critically and commercially acclaimed albums in a row. None of them really sound like the others, and he's done it while being pretty much the biggest male pop star in the world since LP1. Pretty commendable, I'd say.
  4. Because the internet is not real life. I also don't like like my avatar, for the record. Don't want there to be confusion.
  5. The thought of internet people calling me by my real name creeps me out.
  6. It's terrific, yeah. If possible, ignore the hype, because it's not the greatest album of all time or anything. I don't even think it's Kanye's or 2010's best. But it is pretty excellent, and doesn't sound like much else out there in commercial hip hop. Power is an especially amazing track. I thought I had moved on from loving Kanye so much, but this has brought me back to all his records. For being one of one of the biggest pop stars in the world, having released five albums so far, completely different from each other, while retaining critical and commercial acclaim is a pretty commendable
  7. Ah, cool. Looks nice. Hopefully Charlottesville gets a good one too.
  8. Hurley really wasn't bad at all. Had a good number of genuinely great tracks and a very low number of embarrassing ones. I haven't heard many 2010 records, but I can see it squeaking in my top 10.
  9. But what do you gain by having that stuff to discuss so early? Seems kinda pointless.
  10. If Jeff (or anyone in the band) is any kind of artist whatsoever, he'd rather have people posting both good and bad things about his work instead of 100% rave reviews. You're never gonna improve as an artist if no one will point out your flaws. The world needs haters. (I don't mind SBS or WTA myself. But they do show Jeff in a certain comfort zone that it'd be cool to see him break out of.)
  11. I think most of the bashers are just as vocal as they are to balance out the ridiculousness of the fanboys that reside there. This forum does have a recently active thread called God Bless Jeff Tweedy, but it's still infinitely less creepy than the Radiohead people, who (as expected) will freak out over discovering pictures of Thom Yorke shirtless at the beach. I've heard great things about the DRA message board. Never checked it out though.
  12. You serious? The Radiohead sections of the AtEase message board are full of some of the most annoying fanboy gushing posts I've ever seen. It's disgusting. I'd much rather discuss a band in a forum that doesn't collectively orgasm at discovering that the CSS document used to code Radiohead's latest website update may or may not be titled as a reference to a 2011 tour. If it wasn't for the quality trolling that goes on, I'd never read that section of their board at all. The non-Radiohead music forum is great though. This forum has negativity, but the Radiohead fanboys on AtEase are without a
  13. My #1, easily. Nothing comes close for me. Outstanding record.
  14. Ordered it yesterday. Not expecting much but fairly interesting demos, but Spoon is pretty much a buy everything released band for me, and it was only $9.
  15. Is this an actual release? That's one of the worst album covers I've ever seen.
  16. Possibly the greatest thing I've ever read on this board.
  17. Um...the band almost certainly didn't make that low quality picture slideshow video.
  18. Not any better or worse than Wilco's version, really. Jimmy Eat World's a solid band. But I haven't check out the new one yet. Cool to see they like Wilco.
  19. I don't think it's that odd. It is a huge piece of rock memorabilia, and serial killers/murderers fascinate a lot of people. There's got to be a good number of rock and crime fans out there, and this is like a holy grail for them. I think a museum donation is a far better outcome, but I can easily understand why there'd be interest in buying it.
  20. This one good? I bought it at my schools library's book sale a few weeks back for 10 cents. The only Cat Stevens I've heard is Tea For The Tillerman, but I like it quite a bit. Haven't listened to Catch Bull yet.
