I have really tried to like Licorice, but I don't find it remotely loud, fun, or trashy.

Teen suspended for 1 year for hugging teacher
Moss replied to Atticus's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
The "hugs not drugs" saying will need replacing. -
Yeah, vegetarians say you can make it taste chicken if you want. No matter what it ends up tasting like 3 day old scrambled eggs soaked overnight in chicken broth.

Heard an amazing song from this album called "Gustavo" that's really making me want to dig into this one. Anybody heard this record? Always liked Sun Kil Moon.

I have actually been pretty surprised and gratified by the level of attention Lou Reed's death has gotten. I guess I thought he was a bit more underground and obscure than he really was.

Guided by voices, another band that will never be worthy of the greatness that is the R&R HOF. Just out of curiosity because I honestly don't know. Did Linda Ronstadt actually write any songs or is she just being inducted for being a great interpreter of them? No question she had great pipes. And I'm not saying it should matter as far as being inducted because there are certainly many other worthy people that didn't write songs.

Boy, do I lack attention to detail. Put me down for invisibility.

Plus my dad had a Linda Ronstadt t-shirt I remember him wearing back in the 70's, and he never wore musician shirts. Alright, I stand corrected. just sour grapes on my part as I love the Replacements.

Patrice O'Neal?

Very cool. I had 2 cans of haggis that got confiscated when I flew back from Scotland. Something about Sheeps lungs and Prions or whatever. But you can get pretty good stuff on Amazon actually.

My 7 year old Daughter's request for Santa Barbara Tweedy show

That is so cool. -
What, no X-ray vision? I'm going mind reading. Could be dangerous.

I think Linda got the pity vote or something. No way she should get in ahead of others that have already been mentioned. And certainly not over the Replacements!

The Shepard tone thing in Born Alone is pretty cool. Also like the chords in Jesus, etc...

Haggis. Love the stuff.

Yeah, that sound system was amazing. I may go back just to see that show again.

Ooh, now that I didn't know. That's a game changer for me.

For some reason the tradition on Xmas eve at my moms is Clam chowder and oyster stew. Usually everyone is so stuffed from cheese ball and cookies and all the other stuff that soup works pretty good. That Roast beast does sound good.

I believe John Stewart refers to Chicago style pizza as "Casseroles".

I suppose it's only a short matter of time before CD's are no longer even manufactured so I need to hop on the spotify train. One problem I have is I only have so much digital bandwidth per month (that I share with daughters) which would be used up quickly if I were to start streaming music all the time. Does everyone here that streams music have unlimited minutes or something? I don't even really use my phone for music because of that. As somebody mentioned, I would also be worried about too much content. I already have musical ADD and was really trying to focus on listening more times t

You just can't live in Texas unless you got a lotta soul
Moss replied to Sweet Papa Crimbo's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
I do miss the BBQ in Texas. Although I hear Memphis is where the real BBQ is. By the way I'm not saying Texans are racist. I'm saying it was eye opening moving there from Minnesota as I had not heard people openly say the stuff they did in Texas. Maybe it was just less hidden or whatever but it sticks in my mind. But I have to admit, I don't remember living anywhere that had such warm friendly people. Southern Hospitality I guess. -

I lived in Austin for a few years so I have quite a few facebook friends from there. What is it about living there that causes the massive amount of pride? When they are not posting some completely right wing nonsense, they are always posting something about how great Texas is. Is there some kind of marketing campaign going on there? I was only in elementary school when I lived there but my hazy memories are around how hot and racist it was. -
Record Store Day: Black Friday 2013 Edition

I got the Linus and Lucy but it's actually on green vinyl. Also got Zabriskie point for my brother for Christmas. -
I am not a fan of Christmas or the holidays in general
Moss replied to Radiant Witch Face's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
I love the season even though it has no religious significance for me at all. Something about knowing I have several days off work (we get a paid week off), you have the Christmas lights going and the tree in the corner. Fireplace going, a little whiskey and nog or scotch, snow outside. Last year I smoked a joint and watched the SNL Martin Short/Paul McCartney episode and it was magical. But I do have a single friend that gets so depressed that he becomes unreachable for a few weeks every year despite my best attempts and I know it affects many people that way. -
