I like the John Grant album with Midlake better than the Midlake album. Also put me squarely in the Band of Horses camp although I like Fleet foxes. I guess I don't see BoH being any more mid tempo than Fleet foxes (to my ears).

I have a Denon DP-7F that I bought a long, long time ago but it still works (although I really want that Rega). What I need is some new speakers. Thoughts on those?

He gets such a great guitar sound on that song, so echo-ey and shimmering. The way those harmonics sound when he is tuning fit so well with the intro, it was a brilliant idea to leave that in.

I actually made a mix tape for the wife a few months ago and put that one on there. Catchy as all hell.

Cool, just found the stream and I'm checking it out now. I like the heaviness of it so far, glad they got Butch Vig for this one.

I love yes but now that I think about it, it's really those 2 albums that I have always listened. I do own Relayer and close to the edge on vinyl and should probably pull those out again. Anderson is just an amazing singer and I love Steve Howe's playing. And that distinctive bass tone that Squire gets. I crank Starship Trooper every time it comes on, just amazing musicianship.

I actually just got back from visiting the Nuclear museum in New Mexico. As you would imagine, there is a section on Hiroshima/Nagasaki as well as replicas of Fat Man and Little Boy. Pretty amazing seeing how small they really are to be able to cause that much damage. Seems like the museum was trying to be balanced in showing the arguments for and against dropping the bombs. Anyways, I'm interested in checking this out.

I have had about 1 hour to play with it so far. I took the day off work tomorrow so I can really dial something in with it. So far it's exactly like the reviews I have read. Great reverb, pretty close to a clean Fender sound and very close to a Vox AC-30 crunch. If I can't get a good tone with this amp I may as well give up. There is no hiding sloppy playing with this thing, super clean sound.
