  1. Please see the previous "prize in the cereal box" posts. And please, chill. Yes, everyone (including wilco hq) understands that you're frustrated by this. We get it.
  2. Some of my favorite VCers! This thead reminded me of this other thread, which has a bunch of pictures from the solo shows at the Vic in March 2005. In particular, I know I used this picture as my wallpaper for quite some time. I just opened these, and... Yowza. Helloooo, #7!
  3. The rule is here: http://forums.viachicago.org/index.php?act...;f=24&id=12
  4. Lot of info, links, and tips in there. And if anyone's got anything that should be in there but isn't, please feel free to add to it!
  5. wilcobase's Bonus Materials section has links to lots of people's pictures: http://wilcobase.com/bonus_materials.php
  6. No problem. It's just that there were a LOT of threads on this for a while, and they all got merged into this one. Seems like one thread for the DVD, and one for discussing bonus-track download issues is a reasonable breakdown. And Laminated Cat with Glenn is probably my favorite on the DVD.
  7. Yeah, some people did download before the system went kerplooey. People are still talking about problems (and other issues) with the downloads over here http://forums.viachicago.org/index.php?showtopic=25315 It might be easier to keep discussion of the DVD itself here, and talk about downloading issues there. That might keep some trigger-happy moderator from merging the threads.
  8. I like Speed's analogy, that they're like the prize in a box of cereal. Would you have not bought the DVD if there weren't going to be extra tracks available? Or would we all have expected to pay a lower price for it? I don't know, but I doubt it. BUT... I also agree that it's not appropriate to post them here for download. The tracks are available (or, will be shortly ) for people who bought the DVD (those of you without DVD drives: have you contacted wilco hq to ask for an alternate means of downloading those?).
  9. Mike, have you done any BTs before? Do you have a BT program installed on your computer? If not, that's definitely your first step. Check out the BT 101 thread to get started, and check back to let us know how you're doing, or if you have any questions.
  10. The same was true of the More Like the Moon tracks with purchase of YHF. Now they're just out there, on the website. Obviously there's no guarantee, but I'm guessing they'll all be available eventually.
  11. Although, you bring up a good point: IT'S FREE. And, you will get them eventually, one way or another. The page says they're having technical difficulties, and then thanks you for your patience.

  13. Welcome to VC! http://www.rbally.net/ Search for "tweedy" for shows in mp3. http://download.owlandbear.com/ Shows in lossless formats; instructions included, or check out the trading forum below for more info.
  14. I was kind of hoping no one would notice. Kris, how could you have failed to recognize my freakish beach-ball sized head?
  15. Batik! We used to do this at summer camp, I recall it being much fun. I've been thinking about doing a batik-ing day with the kids.
  16. When I was in high school, I walked out of a bowling alley without returning the shoes, and they were my favorites for a solid year. I'm considering trying to replicate them with a pair of Fluevogs... although, at much greater expense.
  17. The rule that night was anything with detachable lenses was considered "professional", and not allowed. Anything else was no problem.
  18. A great place to start: http://download.owlandbear.com/ (hosted by a fine upstanding VCer) and then there's always this: http://bt.viachicago.org/ Welcome to VC!
  19. I don't know anything about what they'll be airing, except what I posted above: "some of the music selections performed at opening night's Between the Bridges".
