  1. Now that you've passed that magic number, we'll be looking out for you at a few more shows in SF!
  2. One of my favorite posts ever on VC: From this thread: http://archive.viachicago.org/index.php?sh...mp;hl=hot+sauceYay condiments! Did you see the episode of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia where they decided to become crack addicts? I don't always think that show is all that funny, but I got a few good laughs out of that one.
  3. Big day for Johnny! Yay and Congrats!
  4. I wash my hair about once a week (I wet it every day in the shower, just no shampoo), and up until a couple of days ago, I had neither brushed nor combed my hair for a couple of years, probably. No, I do not have dreads; I just finger-comb. For some reason, I started blow-drying my bangs this week. I think maybe it was a mistake.
  5. I heard Amy Rigby say once "I needed some time to myself, so I booked a gig in Nashville". Don't know if she made that one up, or if it's a standard joke for touring musicians...
  6. I think I post this in Alison's Up With Autumn thread every year. What I miss most about Poughkeepsie:
  7. I'll toss this one in with the Lolla discs.
  8. The tracker has been down for a while. If you're looking to BT them, they'll be available eventually, but have some patience while people re-up everything that used to be on there.
  9. I think a lot of people here would disagree with that opinion.
  10. In general, it's best to put requests like this in the trading/BT forums: http://forums.viachicago.org/index.php?showforum=30 Right now, the VC tracker is just up again after having been down for several weeks. Prior to that, both sets of demos were available there. Give the tracker some time to get rolling again; everything has to be re-upped, but these will turn up again eventually. Welcome to VC!
  11. Lots of gay men know that they're gay by the time they're 14. Would people feel the same way about a 14 year old boy sleeping with a male teacher? Is it just that we don't see women as "predators"?
  12. Not me, I hope! I had a pretty good spot at the Fillmore, but I think there has to be better footage out there than anything with me in it. There was a pack of VCers who hit most of these shows, though, so I would imagine that one or two of them will pop up.
  13. "Filliam H Muffman"? I have no clue... Happy Birthday anyway, Jeff!
  14. Must be something in the air! Sinead and Ro are also going for real hair cuts tomorrow. Lots of talk of "tapering" and "bangs" going on around here.
  15. I like it, but I like Billy Bragg. People who don't like him tend to think that there's way too much of him in it.
  16. Aaah! My eyes! How about a warning for a dirty, dirty link like that?
  17. I don't know which I hate more, "funny" Robin Williams, or "dramatic" Robin Williams.
  18. http://forums.viachicago.org/index.php?showtopic=23897
  19. Looks like they changed the format for that page. Right-click on the green icon next to the date, and "save as", that should do it. Any general BT questions, there's a BT 101 thread, or just post 'em here and we'll try to help out.
  20. In Dublin, spend a Sunday afternoon at the Brazen Head; if you're at all interested in Irish history, take the tour of Kilmainham Gaol; take the DART to Dun Laoighaire, to see Joyce's tower; see a GAA game (football [Gaelic, not soccer], hurling, or camogie); And check out the outdoor markets (Moore Street!). For day trips out of Dublin, Glendalough and Newgrange would be top of my list (I have no idea if that's the best tour company to use, that's just an example of the kind of trip that's offered; you could also just get town-to-town buses to Glendalough or Newgrange, but I think
  21. Anyone remember Almost Summer? God, I loved that movie. Ridiculous that he was in that 4 years after Godfather 2. Also, off topic, how much do I love IMDB? Clicking around on the cast of Almost Summer, I find that John Friedrich, who played Darryl Fitzgerald, appeared in an amazing array of 70s pop-culture touchstones: The Boy in the Plastic Bubble, episodes of Baretta and Streets of San Francisco, In the Matter of Karen Ann Quinlan, Forever, Thank God It's Friday, the Studs Lonigan miniseries, and the Wanderers. Damn.
  22. That sounds like a cool picture! I didn't get notified until the new round of pictures was already posted (in fact, I heard it from a couple of people before I heard from WW ). So just keep watching the website!
