  1. Lots of folks here have had their picture taken with Jeff, and most of those weren't even at official meet-and-greets, so I think you'd be totally OK to ask for a picture in that context.
  2. I agree that sounds like it would be a fun song to hear at a Wilco show, but I don't know if you'll get it. You might have a better shot picking your wife's favorite Wilco song, and asking for a special intro to it. And, I really don't think it's a matter of price, I just don't think they'd be able to answer that kind of request for everyone who asked. Having said that, probably the best way to get in touch is through their management's website, linked through the wilcoworld info page: http://tmmchi.com/ There's an e-mail address on there that you could try.

    I'll Fight?

Hey, congrats on de-lurking yourself! I've merged your thread into this older one, because some people here had some really great insights, and they may want to re-visit the topic now.
  5. They are never going to get rid of those tour programs.
  6. I'm putting "hiking the Appalachian Trail" in my list of favorite APEs, along with "shaking hands with old Abe Lincoln" (a Letterman classic) and "a pineapple whip in the Enchanted Tiki Room" (courtesy of Brianne; every trip to Disneyland from now on will just feel dirty).
  7. 1. I first read that as Highlander: Schmighlander. 2. I have a cousin named Annie Devlin. 3.
  8. And... did you read the other thread? Nothing there helped, either?
  9. http://wilcoworld.net/roadcase/members/member.php Is that where you registered? You can also look at some of the older threads discussing this, try starting here: http://forums.viachicago.org/topic/39710-dvd-audio-download/page__p__1316924__hl__downloads__fromsearch__1entry1316924
  10. I think Sir S and dunnright00 are having an awkward avatar moment here.
  11. a. I'm merging. Edit: no, I'm not. What happened to the other thread??? b. Generally it's easier for people to be PM'd (and there are people who will respond, if you ask nicely), than to track down every request in a thread. I'd suggest looking through this thread for people who say that they might be able to point you in the right direction, then sending them a message (click on the little envelope icon under their avatar).
  12. The Lackeys took me to Ramsi's. Huge menu, cool place in a cool neighborhood. The Louisville Slugger factory has a tour, which I didn't get a chance to do, but it looked pretty good (I know that Reni has done it recently, maybe Graham could get her to chime in here). Just a couple of blocks from that is the Muhammed Ali Center, which was really interesting. I stayed down near the convention center, which has a weird "Fourth Street Live!" restaurant/entertainment district, so you'd have no trouble finding a restaurant there, but it could very well be at the price of your soul. Other than
  13. People have done these here before, and had great success. Here's a link to an older thread: http://forums.viachicago.org/topic/21654-ysi-mix-exchange-volume-5/ I think usually the mixers like to have a theme to work around, although that's probably not a necessity. I usually don't bother making a mix myself, but I'm always up for downloading someone else's mix!
  14. Yoga, pilates, something. He's looking very healthy these days, anyway.
  15. Ha! I have to think that a "faked his own death" scenario, specifically for the sake of Sir S's hypothetical comeback, would split his most fervent fans into two camps: those who would just be relieved and thrilled that he's still alive, and those who would feel tricked and used. He'd either be a messiah or a top-class asshole.
  16. Thanks, Edie! Same camera I've had for a while now, I was just lucky enough to get a great spot on the rail, at a show that was beautifully lit (someone mentioned this earlier, in this thread or another one from this SoCal run, that the lighting is gorgeous these days). And Jeff has definitely been working on his abs! He never quite landed on the monitor, he just held that pose for longer than was probably necessary, to the point where it was just plain silly to watch.
  17. I didn't realize before who started this thread, I just clicked on it now! Andrew, I love it when you ramble.
  18. I have no idea if this is true, I'm just thinking the downloads might be slightly better quality than a rip from the CD. Not that there would necessarily be anything wrong with the rip, but there's always the possibility of blips from a rip. No big whoop either way, for me.
  19. They're .m4a files of the album tracks (no extras or anything). I haven't listened to them yet.
  20. I was having trouble a few hours ago, but it just worked for me.
  21. I've got a couple of pictures from Saratoga, will try to post them tonight. And I believe someone here snagged their set list off the stage that night, too, so that may also surface here.
  22. Even those these two posts are on totally different topics, they both relate to what I've been thinking since hearing about MJ's death. Thirty years after Off The Wall was the soundtrack to my junior high school years, my nieces spent most of last year talking about the coolest kid at their middle school, who just happened to be the kid who did the best Michael Jackson impression at the school talent show. I think kids that age will always respond to his music, it's just a direct shot to the pure-pop center of the brain, wherever that might be. Having said that, the kids are sad to hear th
  23. The SF Chronicle rates movies, CDs, etc., on a scale of . W(TA) got a (emphasis mine):
  24. Sorry, no dice. Stick it in your sock, they don't check that close. But I'm guessing that you're guessing correctly.
