  1. just finally getting around to watching this: http://www.npr.org/event/music/173331505/dave-grohls-sxsw-2013-keynote-speech excellent.
  2. YLT always tours...B&S, not so much. some of my favorite B&S songs, if you wanna see if they are on Spotify or Youtube: The Stars Of Track and Field Like Dylan In The Movies Dogs On Wheels It Could Have Been A Brilliant Career Fox In The Snow I Fought In A War Loneliness Of A Middle Distance Runner
  3. that's gotta be a little bit strange to share an entire tour w/ a headliner and never have any interaction. but it is Dylan we're talking about.
  4. : now watching this kick ass rock band: http://vimeo.com/63263223
  5. top 5 YLT song for sure. love it. they closed their SSF set w/ it too. kinda bummed i didn't go last night...i'll blame it on the stingy press list...
  6. Do you think it's the fault of Wilco, or the community? Or both?
  7. that's kinda how it was w/ me and the Guided By Voices mailing list, back in the mid 90s...made friends from NYC, California and London, all of whom I still keep in touch with.
  8. it's funny how the turnover's gone...even though i was a fan back in the day, i didn't find this board/join until a few years ago. i was browsing the members page by post count recently and tons of high total posters were completely foreign to me.
  9. not anything near like they did for this one, but there may have been some footage captured. i really don't know. edit - btw, these Roadcase shows sound awesome.
  10. i wonder if footage from other SSFs will make it to the DVD.
  11. purchased. and kicked in some $ for the tornado fund too.
  12. Yes, another dud. The "dear prudence" section at the end is the only good part.
  13. Hate It Here has horrible lyrics. Impossible Germany has great ones.
  14. yeah my friend and i didn't end up browsing the stacks until Sunday...probably had a lot of good records get snatched up, like Paulcalypse, who told me got an original pressing of Sonic Youth's _Sister_ w/ the since-deleted photos for about $30. there were still a load of good to great to excellent records, though. a friend snatched a super clean original press of the Sex Pistols LP w/ poster for $50. he also got a Japanese pressing of 2nd edition. there's one on discogs w/o the poster for $150 http://www.discogs.com/Sex-Pistols-Never-Mind-The-Bollocks-Heres-The-Sex-Pistols/release/27603
  15. well it looks like no press credentials are being issued for the tour...i just checked the site for tickets and there are a ton of seats in the outermost seating sections at Comcast...sections 10 and 14 each have only sold two (2) seats so far. oof. and i thought Richard Thompson was playing the Comcast date, but now it's showing Ryan Bingham.
  16. really? that sucks. the used stock was amazing...i thought the condition of most items was really really good. yesterday i listened to two of the LPs I bought (The Gun Club and Dead Boys) and they were super clean copies. very happy w/ the selection that Euclid brought w/ them.
  17. paying $8 for a 7" record is something that I ever rarely do anymore...i've got boxes and boxes of the things sitting upstairs, ignored.
  18. I thought about it today on my bike ride, and the odds are pretty high of non-gay male musicians, given enough unprotected sex and time, will become involved in the dad rock movement.
