  1. it sounds like Elvis has no say in pricing, and based on how recording contracts are typically written, i would think that is true.
  2. i would also say that just being a dexterity wizard doesn't make one a great guitarist...
  3. so many people have tried to convince me otherwise, but the band just doesn't work for me.
  4. how many metal guitarists can shit all over most of these selections? a lot.
  5. yeah including Lou Reed is a joke...and Bruce Springsteen? c'mon. i guess i know who Jon Landau voted for... including Paul Simon is really stupid too. yeah, he gets in, but not someone like Steve Howe. another WTF moment...Leslie West at 66? really? where is John McGeoch? he only contributed vitally to bands like Public Image Ltd, Magazine, and Siouxsie and The Banshees... i know it's RS so i should expect it, but still... i would like to see the individual ballots of the voters: THE VOTERS: Trey Anastasio, Dan Auerbach (The Black Keys), Brian Bell (Weezer), Ritchie Blackmore (Deep
  6. Hendrix was #1. i think Richards was #4. Chuck Berry was in the top 10. Townshend and Page, too. was EVH #2? i can't recall the details,,,just scanned it at a store the other day.
  7. damn i was there too! i put up a vid of CtK on youtube. what a great night of rock.
  8. who the hell is Josh T Pearson? and is Mogwai too unfashionable to land on any of these lists? their record this year is super-excellent-awesomeness. i listened to it again today.
  9. because while they are funny, they are not even close to the ones listed... check out all the parts to this wonderful documentary:
  10. just listening to the new Fall record right now...i don't why i'm surprised it's so good, given the quality of last year's _Your Future, Our Clutter_. but damn. thirty-plus years on and still delivering the goods? not many people can claim that.
  11. there's no question about Harrison...Dylan, not until he got jeebus.
  12. Mark E Smith would never be a travelling dingleberry.
  13. a random smattering of those songs via youtube sunk me into a great and vast coma.
  14. The Fall are definitely greater than George (and by default, Ringo). not sure about Paul or John.
  15. The Stooges are better than any of the bands mentioned so far.
  16. it's much easier to release comps and live albums than records of original material...according to GBVDB, i think Pollard's at about 1300 songs now. yeah, Boston Spaceships is Pollard, John Moen from Decemberists, and Slushy. they have 5 records out, and they are all worth hearing. also, Long Live The Fall!
  17. have you heard all of the Boston Spaceships records? they are flat out great. plus, the Fall have released only 29 LPs?
  18. i would probably violate many VC rules by replying how i would like to this statement.
