  1. they were pieces of cloth, tied together...kinda like ghosts for halloween decorations. rubber chickens could work, too.
  2. can't say that this is a surprise, though still sad when someone turns out like that...
  3. Mussolini made the trains run on time, too. ok, i know i'm overreacting here with this variant on Godwin's law.
  4. band of horses had a copyright grab to photograph their show, when they opened for Pearl Jam...PJ didn't. fuck band of horses.
  5. yeah my front element of my lens was covered w/ water...i had a hood on, but i was close enough to the stage edge that splashing droplets eventually found their way on to it. it was raining so hard i didn't bother trying to wipe it down. most of the time if you didn't have direct light coming into the lens you couldn't tell droplets were there. that shot was definitely a stroke of luck.
  6. that's the mountain goats board...i saw a PopTodd name in there and figured it was you. i'm in this room now http://turntable.fm/punknew_wave_19751990
  7. yeah it is nuts. i made 1K level, but still need 4 fans to break 100.
  8. not too many new 7" are priced less than that, unfortunately.
  9. i got front row seats for Sonic Youth on the Goo tour...went to the box office on my day off, no one was in line, and picked up 6 seats. that was awesome.
  10. i remember camping out for U2 tickets in 84, for the Unforgettable Fire tour. we had a pretty good spot, probably ~50 people back or so. well, as the time drew nearer, people started coming in and hopping on/cutting the line and we couldn't do anything about it...the ticket seller didn't care as he was gonna sell tickets regardless of who bought 'em and by the time we got to buy our own, all the Providence seats were sold out and we had to go for the Worcester show. that sucked.
  11. a friend wanted me to head down to the Philly show but i just couldn't swing it. i saw three shows last year and they were all super fun. thanks for the kind words re: SSF

  13. abandoned? doesn't seem to have been updated in a bit. anyone know the scoop?
  14. on Shawmut st? that place is great. yeah, the wang is pretty steep. i think the orpheum's front balcony is closer than the wang's
  15. i got my tickets yesterday but checked in haphazardly at around 10:05 and it looked pretty picked over.
  16. Xinh Xinh is great Vietnamese food. Montien is good Thai Jacob Wirth's is about the only decent German restaurant in town i can think of
  17. thanks for the info. center balcony, row 5. nice. i just hope there isn't a lot of people traffic in the walkway directly in front of me.
  18. finally got in via the link that knotgreen provided, and the best pair of seats was row z...screw that.
  19. i tried that one too but got some message saying i already had a window/session open? fubar.
