Toronto, Chicago and Detroit residents, pay heed. i caught the show Tuesday and it was great; nice to see they've added a couple of bodies to the 4 piece lineup so that the live experience can live up to the recorded evidence. http://www.grailsongs.com/ "GRAILS is the premier instrumental rock act of the upper Northeast Portland area. An emerging new artist, ready to take the word by storm!"

if there are as many tickets on the market as you claim, finding a ticket below face value shouldn't be hard at all.

the arugula and prosciutto pizza w/ shaved parm that i had in rome was the best pizza ever. i am not a fan of deep-dish pizza.

tinnitus photography replied to PopTodd's topic in Someone Else's Song
i think some people might have missed the 'sing in a different language' portion of this thread... anyway, two of my favorites are Dungen (Swedish) and Boris (Japanese). i'm trying to think of any bands who sing in German... i suppose i could count SFA's _Mwng_ as well (in Welsh). -
New Cat Power album "Sun" (?)
tinnitus photography replied to redpillbox's topic in Someone Else's Song
Whatever happened to Redpillbox? I liked that perspective between the first and second covers records. I am liking the prospect of Marshall-penned songs again -
i'd never heard this song before, and while doing some mp3 maintenance i happened to come across a link that compared that particular song to another one, one that had real hairy balls. i tend to agree quite heavily w/ the blog writer. http://lamestainnorthwest.blogspot.com/2009/07/historia-del-la-musica-tad-pt-v.html

Rumor had it that Neil was to play a free instore @ Plan 9 records on RSD, but due to weather and other issues, it didn't happen. he was browsing the racks, however.

the Follow Me Down 2LP was priced at $20, which seemed reasonable to me. plus, the store i went to had 20% off all vinyl, including RSD releases!

google tells me that Ed Banger is some techno label...holy christ... http://cgi.ebay.com/Ed-Banger-Bee-Sides-5x-Ltd-7-NEW-Sebastian-Justice-RSD-/150592673777?pt=UK_Records&hash=item231005d7f1#ht_709wt_1139

there were two copies in the store i went to, and i think the price was $40. i picked up one to see if there was a discernible weight difference (ie, golden ticket/test pressing inside). i put it back as i was already spending too much and i'm not a huge fan of that record to be honest. figured i'd save it for someone who was. edit - i just left an offer of $1 to for this auction, and left a note leaving in no uncertain terms what i thought of the seller. http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBidsLogin&_trksid=p4340.l2564&item=270736635165&guest=1

so f'in good. i love that band, and it was so great to see them on stage again. if you saw the TT's show, the show was shorter (there was some lesbian/gay/tranny cabaret/performance art thing beforehand, which was actually pretty entertaining), and i don't think they played any songs they hadn't before but it was amazing.
