  1. I've heard they are about to make a deal with Nikki Sixx's Royal Underground clothing line. So, no more Nudie suits.
  2. That was due to the fact that Gram had money to burn, so why not blow it on some fancy clothes.
  3. Maybe these days, but there was a time when they were not. It has to do partly with the refusal of Bill Monroe to not dress like a country bumpkin, which is how country music singers dressed at one point in time. From Monroe's instance on bands members (and himself) wearing their Sunday best, the idea of more fancy and elaborate stage clothing was born (or at least somewhat). There was a time when most all performers wore matching and/or stage clothes of some sort. Of course, this has to do with wanting to be noticed, among other things. That began to go by the wayside in the mid 1960s - at
  4. I must be thinking of some other unreleased album. I have not read the book in a couple of years.
  5. I've never heard it, but I have always heard it was pretty bad. Isn't there a chapter or at least some talk of Toast in the Shakey book?
  6. I dug around at the sites below and did not see any limit listed: Front Gate main page. Wilco Ticketing. Could it be the limit is set when you go through the process to actually buy tickets? Or it could be I just missed it.
  7. You should shout out Last Trip To Tulsa.
  8. Of course, he did other films besides the teen comedies. I think most of those were after my HS years. I didn't really see them until sometime in the late 1990s, I think.
  9. Moving Pictures. Moving Pictures made them well know. And due to that, they became included in the cannon of popular heavy bands. Of course, most of those bands were making albums that were more polished, and thus made them more likely to get their videos on MTV. Most people want their heavy rock without the rough edges I do believe. I just saw this on another message board:
  10. Someone must - there is already a thread like this one in the Just A Fan section. Also, there is a thread about American Central Dust in this section of the board. I don't see why both bands can't just be enjoyed without comparing them. I suppose it will always be that way though.
  11. Guitar Player magazine interview - by way of Thrasher's Wheat:
  12. Hot Dog Lovers: Hold the Wrecking Ball, Save Coney Island HQ
  13. Anyhow - I should have just said Stef has a point. I'm sorry Mr. Pop Todd for grinding your gears.
  14. No, this was the original Wilco message board. It was called Flannel Wearing Riders of The Alt.Country Apocalypse.
  15. This was back in 1997. Not a lot of people know about it.
  16. I know. It was hard to be away from all the people I loved for two years.
  17. That's funny that you mention that. When the board came back on after being down a while, I discovered some people on my ignore list. I have never put anyone on ignore. I should refrain - as I don't want to be called out for jumping on someone (again). PT- I just don't think it is necessary to start a bunch of threads everyday. You don't see that is as being a bit annoying? What if every person here did that all day long. That is why I suggested Twitter to you - you can type things all day on there about your music, the people you know, where you are going to eat, etc. And no one can s
  18. I'm good at making excuses also. You should get a Twitter account.
  19. I'd say someone who promotes themselves and their music over and over and over again is more annoying than someone starting a single thread and going away. We have it made here. On a couple of other message boards I am on, people are banned who do that sort of thing. Sometimes a loose screw needs to find a screwdriver.
  20. No remixing, just re-mastering. I hope they used the master tapes, and not some digital transfer that was done in the 1980s. I think it depends on if you had the Capitol versions, or the EMI/Apple versions of the records. I grew up with the Capitol versions.
  21. I would like to have this: Up for bidding is Neil Peart′s first Slingerland drum set purchased shortly after he joined Rush in late 1974 and used through the recording of 2112. (I stuck this here as we don't have a Rush thread. Maybe we will someday.)
  22. Smells Like Nirvana (The Dick Van Patten sandwich deal kills me every time.) UHF (I like that movie.)
  23. That's interesting. You would hate the The Complete Blue Horizon Sessions 1967–1969 (Fleetwood Mac boxset) then. I suppose that does not bother me. I think what bugs me is when things start being re-mixed or have things added to tracks after the fact.
