  1. Lucius did one at SS3, as did Mark Mulcahy. The Handsome Family did one at SS2 if I remember correctly. And Johnny Irion and Sarah Lee Guthrie, too. I think the pop ups were tweeted out at SS3, so the tech savvy got a heads up.
  2. In order, for today... 1. Wilco 2. Cracker 3. The Replacements 4. CAKE 5. The Rolling Stones 6. The Jayhawks 7. Paul Weller 8. The Band 9. The Who 10. Bob Dylan 11. Talking Heads 12. The Jam 13. 3. One week from right now I'll be loading up the car.......
  4. This festival now looks like Solid Sound writ large. The lineup looks like what I envision SS would have if it were a bigger festival. That is not a complaint - I like the size of Solid Sound.
  5. Solid Sound 4 Expansion Pack! That is a great road trip.
  6. The title track is fantastic. Love it. Saw Big Star do it, and The Jayhawks, too. Just fantastic.
  7. I think the visual is off. Given when the after-Wilco events are starting on Friday and Saturday nights, it looks like Wilco will wrap up their sets by 11:30, for a 9:15 to 11:30 set each night. Two and a quarter hours is similar to past SSs if my memory serves me right.
  8. I'll try my best for these, though with the kids, I never know how things will turn out: Richard Thompson Mac DeMarco King Sunny Ade Real Estate Parquet Courts Cibo Matto Taj Mahal Charles Lloyd Quartet
  9. Shortest: 13 miles to numerous shows in Portland, Maine. Longest: 1,260 miles from Maine to Davenport, Iowa.
  10. Whiskeytown opening for The Old 97s. The Old 97s --> good; Whiskeytown --> phenomenal.
  11. One member of our group just ordered the Camp Box. So I guess we'll snack well. I can almost taste the solar popcorn, old salties, and energy brittle now.....
  12. It is just hitting me that SS4 is less than a month away. Crept up on me. So excited to hear great music, view mind-blowing art, and eat and drink well. And then see Tim's excellent pictures after it is all done.
  13. I feel the same way. It is too bad the music is awful. I like Promise of the Real, too. But that song is just awful. This made me laugh.
  14. There was a set of bleachers for SS3, but I cannot recall if they were there for SS2. There is a hill on the other side (left of the sound desk), and in the back left there is a hill that is popular with families with little ones.
  15. Reading this on a recommendation from a fellow VCer (see initial post in this thread). I'm hooked.
  16. I have been drinking Bissell Brothers Substance Ale. http://www.bissellbrothers.com/beers/ Remarkable.
  17. Golden Smog Jennifer Save Me Radio King Looking Forward to Seeing You Please Tell My Brother Making Waves
  18. Dire Straits Romeo & Juliet Down to the Waterline Private Investigations Once Upon a Time in the West Sultans of Swing
  19. Cracker Euro Trash Girl Sweet Thistle Pie Can I Take My Gun To Heaven? Big Dipper I Want Everything
  20. World Party opening for Natalie Merchant. Poor Natalie Merchant. Not a thread you want to make multiple times as the headliner.
  21. I love Undercover of the Night. Bold choice. Your Stones list is one of the best lists in this whole thread. Right up there with my Jayhawks list.
  22. 5 (1973) - Wings 10 (1978) - Boston 15 (1983) - The Kinks 20 (1988) - The Who 25 (1993) - Paul Weller 30 (1998) - The Jayhawks 35 (2003) - Wilco 40 (2008) - Wilco 45 (2013) - Wilco
