Well said. I remember being underwhelmed the first few times I listened to it - I was wanting more of the Being There rockers at the time. Then I got overwhelmed listening to it, in a good way. Via Chicago was the first to stand out, then She's A Jar, Pieholden Suite, I'm Always in Love.....

I don't know the RUSH timeline perfectly, but it looks like they are going backward in time through the set list maybe? Starting with recent stuff, and ending with their first releases?

There are two that I had a hard time leaving off my top five. -
About 100 people in attendance at The Baseball Project on Wednesday night. The band members hung out for a good 45 minutes, at least, after the show. As you know, so incredibly down-to-earth. And you can see they have a grand time playing these songs on stage. In conversation, each one mentioned that they will be playing the Grandstand Theater at the HOF (the Baseball HOF, that is) next week. You could tell it was a treat for them to do something like that. Steve Wynn said that The Dream Syndicate will be touring the east coast in the fall.

I live in Maine, and I have wanted to visit Newfoundland for a long time. It looks like Maine on steroids. The good steroids. That doesn't even make sense, but hopefully it gets the point across. I want to go to the northern tip of Newfoundland to see where the Vikings settled at L'Anse aux Meadows, and by doing that, travel the length of the province.

Pilgrimage Festival - Nashville, TN - Sept. 26-27
The Inside of Outside replied to marino13's topic in Just A Fan
I spent 6 years of my childhood living in a town next to Franklin. I enjoy going back to the area south of Nashville, though it has grown astronomically since I lived there in the '70s. Sounds like a pretty cool festival. Hope it goes well. -
One day late: The Baseball Project, last night.

I saw John, Nels, Glenn, and Pat out and about the most at SS2 and SS3. Generally, people left them alone, or just said hello in passing. I got the sense that people wanted to let the band members enjoy the festival as spectators. You'll see them walking around, catching an act, or, in the case of John and Glenn, watching some of the kid's programming with their families.

I am surprised by the Yankees' strong start. I expected them to be middling, but the top of their lineup is hitting, and their bullpen has been lights out. If their starters hold up, they could be for real. The one consolation is that they continue to be unlikeable, because any team with ARod is unlikeable.

That is a seven song run that would have just about made me crap my pants. I would have needed that bathroom break in IG that followed it. Though I would have preferred a Jesus, etc. bathroom break, I would not have quibbled at that point. -

I watched the documentary the other day. Pretty good, especially in that they put the emphasis on the early years, up through Signals or so. After that, each album got a mention in the film, but that was about it. I am glad that they acknowledge the change from a rock trio to a keyboard/synth based band. Comparing songs like Finding My Way, Spirit of the Radio, and Working Man to something like Time Stands Still is, well, it's hard to do. I found anything after Power Windows to be painful to listen to.

So Sad About Us is a beautiful pop song. That would have been a great addition, too.

Other than a few (I'm One, Slip Kid, The Seeker), it looks like a greatest hits tour. Not much on the mixes and misses, and a lot on the hits and picks. I love the set list, but not exactly what I was expecting/hoping. A Let's See Action/Join Together/Relay mix would be a great addition.
