Has anyone been through a divorce?
The Inside of Outside replied to Dean M's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
I started laughing a few minutes ago, reading this, and I am still chuckling. I guess it is one way to look forward to Sunday. -
The drum solo was such a hallmark of 70s and 80s hard rock and heavy metal. And you knew you were at a show on another plane entirely when you got the bass solo as well. Rudy Sarzo indeed. Love thinking back on those kind of shows, in a campy, nostalgic, hazy way. I sincerely miss those heavy metal bands I used to go see on the landing in the summer.......

Thank you for posting these! Love it. Great chance to see Mikael play - he is so spot on it is scary. Is he human? -
Paul Weller - More Wood (Little Splinters)
The Inside of Outside replied to PopTodd's topic in Someone Else's Song
I have not heard of this CD or seen it. I agree 100% that Wild Wood is fantastic, and you are right - the production is just about the best around. I am going to keep my eyes open for this. One of my favorite live CDs by any artist is his Live Wood from that tour. On that tour he was playing a few Jam tunes, a few Style Council songs, and loads from his first two CDs. I saw this tour in NYC, and it ranks as one of my favorite shows ever. And he still rocks. -
I guess I must have Misunderstood when I voted, because I did not vote for I Am Trying To Break Your Heart.

The Jayhawks (including Louris, Olson, and related)
The Inside of Outside replied to Analogman's topic in Someone Else's Song
I did not have high expectations for this record, so maybe my liking it so much is related to lower expectations coming into it. The run of Tiny Arrows-She Walks in so Many Ways-High Water Blues-Mockingbird Time is as good, to me, as any of their earlier work. And I love a number of their earlier records. -

Jealous. -
I like this song. I don't see it as a throwaway or odd, just another side to the band's sound. I think it fits in well with the rest of the record, though I realize I may be in the minority on this one.

This is crazy talk. Sanity restored to the board!

I thought it would fall farther than 11 after the first week. So many albums debut high, then drop quickly as the rabid fans buy right away or pre-order, which usually means a steep drop the second week. 11 is pretty good! I wonder, with the generally positive reviews and some word-of-mouth, if it might have some legs and stay in the top 50 for a while.

September was ugly enough....now I guess there is some context for the collapse.

Wilco + Nick Lowe Australia + NZ Tour 2012
The Inside of Outside replied to kungfuonion's topic in Just A Fan
Thought just this morning that they'll probably hit Australia sometime after the winter European leg. Did not think they would have it announced so soon. The tour dates keep rolling out. How about back to the east coast in May/June, ending with Solid Sound III? -
Pot Kettle Black Appreciation Thread

This was the first song to really stick with me when I first listened to YHF. It still sticks. And when my kids were younger, they loved the "Baby suck your thumb" line. -
Not ready to put up rankings for the songs on TWL yet, but I do love Capitol City. Standing O is just plain fun.

BT-----> goosebumps every time.

Please, please, please do not mention Bobby V. in reference to the Red Sox manager's job. Valentine is a tool, in my opinion. There are so many people who would be better for the job. You, for instance, High Heat. Or anyone else who posts on this board.

Love this setlist. They have great energy, as do their crowds. Fun show. Highly recommend.

I'm with you on this one.

Color Me Obsessed - Replacements Doc
The Inside of Outside replied to -seven's topic in Someone Else's Song
My first reaction to the idea of a documentary where the band does not appear and their music is not played was disappointment. How can you have a movie about a great, great band and not have their music in it? And the irony: so many people do not know the Replacements and their music, and now they get the documentary treatment.......and you don't see the the band members or hear any of their music. Now that I think about it, it sounds like a movie I want to see! The perfect documentary for The Replacements. -
Wilco Live Webcast This Sunday Night from Columbia

The NPR dude just thanked everyone in the chat room. Don't they know they are in the wrong room? This one had pizza and funky tropical drinks! And lampshades. Good night everybody! -
