I'm hitting both shows. The ball park is across the street from where I work, and it's a Friday so for me that's a no brainer, happy hour at the ball park ;^) It's a small minor league park in the Independent League (not affiliated with a Major League baseball team), it's right next to the arena, train station, bus station and Long Island Ferry, and right off the highway very convenient although traffic can be a bitch. This is as close as I'll ever get to Wilco playing in my back yard!!!!

I know the song your are talking about believe me, like I said he was using Jerry's sounds, it even made me comment to my friend about how Healy had just gotten $4500 on EBay for one of Jerry's MuTrons when the going rate is around $600 or so. I've never been to or worked (old soundman here) in Australia, but I will point out that here in the States it's very common for a Venue to state they have no curfews because technically they don't, but the reality usually is that the Municipality or the Union do. So while the Venue won't stop a performance the promoter gets slapped with heavy fines by the City or ends up having to pay the Union double time or something. While I don't know this to be the case here I'm just pointing it out.

Some very good advice so far, I might add that you can get a decent guitar for under $500, I'm not exactly what you'd call "cheap" I have some very nice guitars in my stable (Taylor, Martin, Breedlove, Gibson). I also have what I call a beater, it's the guitar I leave at my kids (ex-wife's) house so I have something to play while I'm there, it's a 2009 Yamaha FG700S, I picked it up for $100, very comfortable to play and sounds pretty decent too.
