Not my hometown, I just work here, Bridgeport IS a dump ;^)

I'm hitting both shows. The ball park is across the street from where I work, and it's a Friday so for me that's a no brainer, happy hour at the ball park ;^) It's a small minor league park in the Independent League (not affiliated with a Major League baseball team), it's right next to the arena, train station, bus station and Long Island Ferry, and right off the highway very convenient although traffic can be a bitch. This is as close as I'll ever get to Wilco playing in my back yard!!!!

Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival
Bosco replied to YouAReMYface's topic in Someone Else's Song
I know the song your are talking about believe me, like I said he was using Jerry's sounds, it even made me comment to my friend about how Healy had just gotten $4500 on EBay for one of Jerry's MuTrons when the going rate is around $600 or so. He definitely nailed the "sound" right down to the rippely echo effect, but to me "channeling" would require that Jerry feel and vibe which was not present. I'm just not a big John Mayer fan, maybe because I did sound for him way back when, I just find him to be a very sterile guitar player with not much going on, yes he's very talented and yes I do li -
Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival
Bosco replied to YouAReMYface's topic in Someone Else's Song
I was there, what an awesome and fun night! I kinda thought "Don't Let Me Down" was boring, and never once did I think he was channeling Garcia, I did note he was using Jerry's sounds, two completely different things, and it didn't come anywhere close to a Garden show of '90, hell I wouldn't even rate it a '88 or '94 show . I thought the crowd's applause was more because the two cheesy guys just joined together and played a Beatles song and not so much for how they played the song. Gary Clark and Buddy Guy totally stole the show. I couldn't make Saturday, I was totally bumming about mis -
Wilco - 2 April 2013, Sydney (Sydney Opera House)
Bosco replied to BeShakey's topic in After The Show
I've never been to or worked (old soundman here) in Australia, but I will point out that here in the States it's very common for a Venue to state they have no curfews because technically they don't, but the reality usually is that the Municipality or the Union do. So while the Venue won't stop a performance the promoter gets slapped with heavy fines by the City or ends up having to pay the Union double time or something. While I don't know this to be the case here I'm just pointing it out. -

Uncle Tupelo Reunion Tour. You heard it here first.

I was all excited, but then I see the big box will contain yet another tote-bag, Oh God, I'm out! -
I'm guessing it's not going to be that wide open, 1 or 2 obscure covers, 1 or 2 classic covers and 1 or 2 rare Wilco related songs and the rest of the set will still be all request because I'm sure someone somewhere will request Heavy Metal Drummer. No mater how it plays out I think it's really cool they are doing it and I'm sure it will be awesome, even if it's a Heartache Tonight or We Built This City. Fearless would be sweet!!! So I just opened my email to find a Ticket Master PreSale to The Eagles!!!!

Saving for my dream guitar -- tempted by another

I think you should wait, sure you may have found a new love, but after your honeymoon is over you'll still be Jonesin' for the '69 Tele. -
Don't listen to them, Sunday's are a let down, you won't miss a thing! Welcome to the SS High, ride the wave! And when you do get to bring your kid you'll have the time of your life. --- RHINO - STOP reading now. --- What the hell is wrong with you guys, obviously a lot of thought, energy and money went into just making these two days, let's not make them feel bad about missing a day, how about focusing on what an awesome time they'll have on the two days they are there. Money, kids and scheduling, it's tough, believe me I know, I'm missing two Wilco related events this year because of t

When I look at that Saturday lineup I wouldn't be surprised if they actually had more then just two acts on Joe's Field on Saturday, maybe they are moving towards a more traditional festival for Saturday?

OK, I need to ask, this live soundtrack thing, are they playing to a movie projected on a screen? If that's the case I'm not seeing it as an outdoor Sunday thing, maybe they can do the small room inside for the movie and move outside for their set.

Nels!!!

My guess would be under "S".

Hold on there, wait for "U" ;^)

2013 Jeff Tweedy benefit shows at the Vic...
Bosco replied to lazy locomotives's topic in Just A Fan
I am just so pissed I can't make the shows this year, last year was such a treat! I'll be back in the saddle next year! -
It so happens I was suffering the cash flow problem at the time of sale and still need two tix. I sent a PM.

Some very good advice so far, I might add that you can get a decent guitar for under $500, I'm not exactly what you'd call "cheap" I have some very nice guitars in my stable (Taylor, Martin, Breedlove, Gibson). I also have what I call a beater, it's the guitar I leave at my kids (ex-wife's) house so I have something to play while I'm there, it's a 2009 Yamaha FG700S, I picked it up for $100, very comfortable to play and sounds pretty decent too. Some other lower cost acoustic brands you may want to look into would be Blueridge and Recording King, someone mentioned the Seagull S6, also a very

I believe it was 30K each when it was 3 and then it went to 28K each when it became 4, or at least that's how it came out on the webcast.
-
Actually Jeff has played it before, I know he played it at one of the Vic shows in March.

Good call!

Yes, the Toads show, I was there for the Replacements, I didn't really know UT, someone had told me I'd like them so I didn't hang out at Demerys next door eating pizza and drinking cheap beer before the show like I would usually do, I'm so glad I went in!

I once saw this band, they opened for The Replacements, I think they called themselves Uncle Tupelo, wonder whatever happened to those guys I kinda dug them.
