Yeah, I finally turned it off and went to bed in the 11th. As much as I like Mike Timlin, I don't think he's got anything left.

Well at least in one verse, the next line is "Not Like You ..."

Tell me about Soul Asylum live
Oil Can Boyd replied to IRememberDBoon's topic in Someone Else's Song
The first time I saw them (circa 1987) they said "we're probably not the best band you have ever seen but we are probably the loudest." They may have been right. The last time I saw them (circa 1991) was right before Grave Dancer's Union came out. I thought that they had seen better days and I remember telling my friend that it wouldn't surprise me if they broke up soon. Shows what I know ... -
What albums have you heard live in its entirety!

I just saw that Robyn Hitchcock is doing a tour where he plays I Often Dream of Trains in its entirety. I gotta get me some tickets for that. -

If we are talking about seeing a band play an entire album in order in one night (which I am not sure we are), I have seen: Husker Du - Warehouse Lou Reed - New York Magnetic Fields - 69 Love Songs (they did it over two nights and I saw it twice) Sonic Youth - Daydream Nation -
Sorry - having a little trouble with the pronouns. Who blew who (whom?) out of the water?

It's obviously available all over the place but the second set is part of the downloads for sale through dead.net. It's Volume 7. And it was a Thursday ...

Boy do I love this album ...

A solid early 1980s show. But more importantly (for me) the first Dead show I ever saw. Grateful Dead, Providence, 9/4/80 Feel Like a Stranger. Peggy-O, Cassidy, Dire Wolf, New Minglewood Blues, Althea, Looks Like Rain, Far From Me, China Cat Sunflower>I Know You Rider Samson and Delilah, Ramble on Rose, Supplication > Estimated Prophet > Eyes of the World > drums > The Other One > Wharf Rat >Goin' Down the Road Feelin' Bad > Good Lovin' U.S. Blues

Via Chicago's Top 100 Albums of All Time: Summer 2008 edition

That's what happened with me. Didn't do much for me after a few listens. One day I found myself humming something from it (King of Carrot Flowers, maybe) so I put it on and loved it. -
Exactly. I think one of the issues that is often overlooked is that with a hybrid there are no emissions at low speeds or when you are idling. I have had a Honda Civic hybrid for four years and love it (although I changed jobs about two years ago and now mostly take public transportation to work).

Just watched this and thought it was excellent.

Kimcatch: I just finished this book (Last Days of Old Beijing) and really liked it. It has a lot of pretty interesting information about the history of Beijing, including what is going on there now with the destruction of much of the older neighborhoods.

I just finished the one on the Pixies and thought it was pretty good. I also liked Bill Janovitz's book on Exile on Main Street. However, I really didn't like the one on REM's Murmur.

Feel better Captain Carl.

It took me about halfway through the thread to realize that people were not talking about Belinda Carlisle.

I really like those Star demos. As for me, I'm listening to this for the first time in years. Maybe it's the references in the lyrics, but it seems sort of dated.

Pretty good review in today's Boston Globe. The paper edition has a nice picture too. A Wilco crescendo at Tanglewood By Joan Anderman, Globe Staff | August 14, 2008 LENOX - If it had been any other band, the opening stretch of Wilco's much-anticipated show at Tanglewood on Tuesday would have seemed insanely temperate. Who greets a pumped, rabid crowd with a laid-back soft-rocker ("Either Way"), a gentle pop tune ("Hummingbird"), and a winsome country-folk song ("Remember the Mountain Bed")? Wilco does - precisely because the band has built a relationship of uncommon trust with its au
