  1. Me too. Going to see Kozelek (solo) on Wednesday.
  2. He's also suspended. "Three Red Sox players have been suspended by Major League Baseball for their roles in last night's brawl against the Tampa Bay Rays. Coco Crisp has been suspended for 7 games, Jon Lester for 5 games, and Sean Casey for 3 games." "MLB came down hard on the Rays for Thursday's brawl, suspending James Shields for six games, Jonny Gomes and Edwin Jackson for fives games each, Carl Crawford for four games and Akinori Iwamura for three games."
  3. Well I think he was going to charge if it was even inside. He seemed ready ...
  4. It started the night before. Coco slid into second headfirst and Jason Bartlett "dropped his knee" which, in some circles, is one of those unwritten codes that middle infielders should not do. A few innings later Coco had a pretty hard slide into Iwamura and the Rays' manager started jawing with Coco. I was not at all surprised that there was a fight last night.
  5. I'm bumming - Ortiz out for a little while and maybe a long while ...
  6. Half right ... That was a pretty impressive 4th quarter by the Celtics.
  7. Meet the Band: The Rationales By Kerry Purcell | Friday, May 30, 2008 | http://www.bostonherald.com | Music News The band: David Mirabella (voice, guitar, keyboards), Brian Binkowski (drums, voice), Matt Goldfield (piano, organ, keyboards, mandolin, voice), Kevin McMahon (guitar, piano, voice), John Maloney (bass, voice) The hometowns: Mirabella grew up in Revere and lives in Winthrop. McMahon hails from Waltham, but lives in Brighton along with Binkowski, who is originally from Naugatuck, Conn. Goldfield moved to Boston from Northampton and Maloney is from Erie, Pa. The sound: Am
  8. Did you see that he "misplaced" his World Series ring?
  9. I've seen them a few times since they got back together (including opening for Wilco after Sonic Youth canceled) and they have been great shows. They are playing a couple of shows in Boston in June that unfortunately I can't see: the first night they are playing Signals, Calls, and Marches and the next night they are playing Vs.
  10. I think the real question is whether the Wallflowers or the Blisters are better?
  11. And the Bartolo Colon era begins in Boston. He looked good last night ...
  12. Wait, what? Did I miss something?
  13. Bought mine almost four years ago and still loving it.
  14. That's funny - I watched it last night.
  15. And even Papelbon was a little shaky. But Dice-K goes to 8-0 (despite 6 walks).
  16. But how 'bout their freakin' bullpen: it went from 11-3 to 11-8 pretty damn fast ...
  17. That's some good reading. Albini's Liz Phair is Rickie Lee Jones, Smashing Pumpkins are REO Speedwagon, and Urge Overkill are Oingo Boingo comparisons are pretty funny.
  18. That's a great album. I have it on vinyl but when the Tower Records near me was closing its doors I bought it on CD for about $2.
  19. That is true. I used to drive 35-40 minutes each way to work and I would listen to talk radio (and sports radio) some of the time. And I would get unfuriated at certain hosts but also curious as to what they would say about certain topics. About two years ago I started taking public transportation and now I find that I don't miss those radio folks at all.
  20. Tough start for Mussina tonight ...
  21. Well we had four Republican governors in a row (until recently) ...
