  1. Yeah, he infuriated me last year when he was on the Sox but now I just feel sorry for the guy.
  2. Reported at Jambase and other places. David Byrne & Brian Eno Back At Work On "Electronic Gospel" The Daily Swarm and Drowned In Sound are reporting some seriously exciting news. According to these reliable sources, David Byrne and Brian Eno are reuniting for a new album and apparently a tour. From Drowned In Sound: The dream art-rock team of David Byrne and Brian Eno will return with new, strange fruit soon, the former Talking Heads man told NME.com recently. Speaking at an event in New York, Byrne revealed that the duo had rekindled the relationship they formed in the late 70s/ea
  3. Since I had kids my tolerance for bad movies has become pretty high. This, however, was unbearable. Perhaps the worst movie I have ever seen:
  4. Most people who say Trout Mask Replica is a great album haven't listened to the whole thing.
  5. Tom Magliozzi was having lunch in my building the other day. I heard his laugh before I saw him.
  6. I read it, as I am a big Galaxie 500/Luna fan. It's entertaining enough; he has some good stories to tell. He does come off as a fairly unpleasant guy. He makes a lot of snide comments about his own bandmates and other bands. And he certainly gets the point across that being in a band that has moderate success is not as glamorous as it might seem. I did learn that his relationship with Britta Phillips started while he was still married. Liz Phair reviewed it in the New York Times: Black Postcards
  7. ^^^^ Reminds me of this series of books:
  8. I helped a friend move this weekend and I saw that he had two copies of Pavement's Perfect Sound Forever 10-inch. He gave me one.
  9. Dice-K threw 116 pitches in 5 innings, and only 62 were strikes. But he got the win ...
  10. And now that it is good, they will ruin it with a spin-off: "NBC presented its fall schedule to advertisers Wednesday, and these are the main bits of news from that upfront presentation:
  11. He does. Unfortunately for the Brewers, Gagne does not. I saw on ESPN that Gagne has only 10 blown saves in his career coming into this season. It seemed to me like he blew 10 saves last year alone.
  12. Julio Lugo has really been clicking so far. If by clicking you mean not being able to throw to first ....
  13. I had the opposite experience in high school. There was a history teacher who was really into martial arts. He used to say things to our class like "if all of you attacked me right now you would eventually win, but the first dozen of you would be really badly hurt."
  14. And Lester wasn't so bad today ...
  15. It's a good one. There's no "Carry Me Ohio" but it's still pretty damn good. In fact, I think I'll listen to it on my way home ...
  16. I just saw it in Newbury Comics (a New England chain with about 25 stores).
  17. About 100 pages in and it's pretty good. I'm not wild about McCullough's writing style in this one. One of the things that is interesting is that I work in Cambridge. The Longfellow House, where Washington planned the siege of Boston, is about four blocks from where I am right now.
  18. Come by my house and I'll show you mine. I also have a copy on Stiff Records that I got signed by Glenn Mercer and Bill Million. The only other autographed album I have is Let it Be signed by Westerberg, Mars, and Tommy Stinson.
