It started the night before. Coco slid into second headfirst and Jason Bartlett "dropped his knee" which, in some circles, is one of those unwritten codes that middle infielders should not do. A few innings later Coco had a pretty hard slide into Iwamura and the Rays' manager started jawing with Coco. I was not at all surprised that there was a fight last night.

I'm bumming - Ortiz out for a little while and maybe a long while ...

Is anyone going to see R.E.M. on this tour?

Half right ... That was a pretty impressive 4th quarter by the Celtics.

Did you see that he "misplaced" his World Series ring?

I've seen them a few times since they got back together (including opening for Wilco after Sonic Youth canceled) and they have been great shows. They are playing a couple of shows in Boston in June that unfortunately I can't see: the first night they are playing Signals, Calls, and Marches and the next night they are playing Vs.

I think the real question is whether the Wallflowers or the Blisters are better?

And the Bartolo Colon era begins in Boston. He looked good last night ...

Bought mine almost four years ago and still loving it. -
That's funny - I watched it last night.

And even Papelbon was a little shaky. But Dice-K goes to 8-0 (despite 6 walks).

But how 'bout their freakin' bullpen: it went from 11-3 to 11-8 pretty damn fast ...

That's some good reading. Albini's Liz Phair is Rickie Lee Jones, Smashing Pumpkins are REO Speedwagon, and Urge Overkill are Oingo Boingo comparisons are pretty funny.

That's a great album. I have it on vinyl but when the Tower Records near me was closing its doors I bought it on CD for about $2.

That is true. I used to drive 35-40 minutes each way to work and I would listen to talk radio (and sports radio) some of the time. And I would get unfuriated at certain hosts but also curious as to what they would say about certain topics. About two years ago I started taking public transportation and now I find that I don't miss those radio folks at all.

Well we had four Republican governors in a row (until recently) ...

Saw him play last weekend and it was quite good. It's not the Feelies but it was pretty enjoyable. I talked with him before the show and he said the Feelies are rehearsing these days. They have a couple of shows scheduled (at Maxwell's and the 4th of JUly show) and hope to play in Boston and Chicago in the fall.

That story is two years old ...
