I'm surprised that no one has started a thread

I had the opposite experience in high school. There was a history teacher who was really into martial arts. He used to say things to our class like "if all of you attacked me right now you would eventually win, but the first dozen of you would be really badly hurt." -
Hell yeah!

And Lester wasn't so bad today ...

It's a good one. There's no "Carry Me Ohio" but it's still pretty damn good. In fact, I think I'll listen to it on my way home ...

I just saw it in Newbury Comics (a New England chain with about 25 stores).

About 100 pages in and it's pretty good. I'm not wild about McCullough's writing style in this one. One of the things that is interesting is that I work in Cambridge. The Longfellow House, where Washington planned the siege of Boston, is about four blocks from where I am right now.

It is weird when that happens. Probably not quite as extreme but I remember when Dwight Evans played a season with Baltimore, after 18 years with the Red Sox.

That's the truth. A couple of months ago NESN (the Red Sox cable channel) showed the 1999 game where Pedro struck out 17 Yankees. It was still pretty compelling to watch. What struck me was how fooled most of the batters were. He had such a variety of pitches and he threw them all for strikes.

Dinosaur Jr Headlining Pitchfork Night 3!
Oil Can Boyd replied to Degenerex's topic in Someone Else's Song
I would put Dino Jr. and a Bob Mould show (maybe his second tour, post-Huskers, pre-Sugar) as the loudest I have ever seen/heard. -
Don't recall seeing this mentioned but how about The Night Chicago Died by Paper Lace.
-
Probably mentioned Burks because the original article was in the Boston Globe.

Brooklyn Vegan (and others) reporting that the Feelies will be playing some shows this summer, including opening for Sonic Youth in Central Park. Man, I would travel to see that ... Brooklyn Vegan

Magnetic Fields: Yeah! Oh, Yeah! Or in the lyrics for I Don't Believe You: "So you quote love unquote me ..."

My pre-order copy arrived in the mail yesterday and, yes, it's quite good.

Then shenanigans it is because it says I'm Brandon Webb!

Good one.

"Ever" is one of my favorite Lemonheads songs.

The New Yorker just had an article about him and the magazine he is starting. He lives in Wayne Gretzky's old house.

Red Sox optioned OF Brandon Moss to Triple-A Pawtucket That's rough. The guy is leading the league in home runs ...

I saw them in Boston on this tour and I agree with your comments. The stuff from Distortion sounds great live, much better than it sounds on the album. It does make me appreciate the album more because I can sort of hear the songs through the distortion.
