  1. We're in new territory setlist-wise for a show billed as 'Jeff Tweedy' - one Wilco song played at the end. Pretty interesting. I wonder if most concert goers were expecting the Wilco catalog to be ignored.
  2. I think it got cancelled because of the weather evacuation, but Jeff was to record an episode of the Talkhouse podcast with Cate Le Bon in the middle of Saturday's festival this year. Hopefully they ended up recording it anyway somewhere...
  3. Cynical take on this is that Jeff agreed to appear at their festival so they featured his song.
  4. Jeff Tweedy could not be more comfortable. How dare Wilco fans want the band to challenge themselves by changing up the setlist.
  5. I dunno either but this feels like a great opportunity for Lotti to make some recommendations.
  6. Cate Le Bon! Lots of great Pitchfork aftershows tonight. Wish there were good ones tomorrow too.
  7. Clear! A Ghost is Born is kinda a Jorgensen record, right? I guess O'Rourke too/mostly though. 'Unlikely Japan' is a great track that gives me an idea what you are looking for. Would be awesome. WilcoBook has more MJ stuff too?
  8. This is so confusing. You are pushing back on the notion that Wilco has been dry with rockers since AGIB by saying that 1 of their 2 most recent album was consistently a rocker? Besides Schmilco each album has at least a few.
  9. Ha. You got me there. Autobiography. I stand corrected. Now for a new thread: "Whose biography would you like to see Jeff Tweedy write" I'll go with Jim O'Rourke
  10. Plus he wrote a biography
  11. Courtney Barnett & Sunflower Bean
  12. that's the one! I'm a sucker for event specific posters.
  13. I managed to sneak out of night one without any merchandise. I was proud of myself. Then, I get an email from the Stones and all the sudden I've dropped $50 on a gig poster. That price is pretty impressive especially compared to the signed Minus 5 poster I picked up at their show for $15 two days later.
  14. Thanks bbop! That is such an odd lineup, but oddly, I would have loved all three I'm sure. Guilty pleasures (all or just the bread in this odd wilco sandwich?).
  15. No Kansas !? They've haven't played the ruby slipper state in 11 years!!!!
  16. I thought the poster was referencing the band and their management fwiw
  17. More pressure for the karaoke folks!
  18. yes and strange that those names came up but not Buddy Guy, Chess Records, Howlin' Wolf, the Double Door, the Aragon etc.
  19. It was a great night! I thought Mick, Charlie and, in particular Ronnie, were great. I'm a Keith guy. He had a terrible night playing wise and looked terrible. Hope it was just a one night thing. Calvino - the songs you chose as highlights - so interesting! The deepest cuts of the night. Mick Jagger commenting on Ed Burke - what?
  20. They played albums that were 22 and 16 years old straight through at SS, they sell merch based around their most well known album, setlists on recent tours were heavily concentrated on material from their 2 best known albums with new material mixed in dismissing about a decade's worth of newer music, they don't play developing markets anymore - just the places where they can make money, they reissue deluxe versions of their albums. Also, as seen previously in this thread their fans would rather hear their old songs rather than their new ones. That's off the top of my head.
  21. I'm not so sure about that any more.
  22. Yeah, that I'm a Wheel (tea kettle) scream wasn't the best.
  23. I get what you are trying to say but I don't agree - they are pricing most people out of their show by setting a $750 ticket price. There are people like me who would pull that seat for $100 or even $150 and not think about selling it because sitting in the first row to see Wilco is amazing. I wouldn't resell it. I don't buy that the band doesn't have input into the pricing. Jeff has mentioned in past interview their decision to move from $30 tickets to $50.
