  1. Seems likely they will add more since there lots of days between shows, right? Austin? New Orleans? Tulsa?
  2. It was a great show. Wilco did a great job of laying out the songs they were going to play and paced the show well. The musicianship is off the charts. These guys are the total pros (even without the total pros). My 57th Wilco show and way up there as far as quality/enjoyment. Highlights: Dark Neon - I'm not a fan of the album version but it cooked last night. Band intros. The band bow at the end of the show. The crowd - really into and singing along to all songs old and new. The opening 1-2 songs. Another Man's Done Gone. Many others. Have they done the rock out Spiders and Art of Almost
  3. They did Solitaire last summer. I'm hoping for that one tonight. In addition to Sunloathe.
  4. Great recap. You have this flipped though. Waltz was night 3
  5. They did not play the albums front to back or within the same evening during the Winter Residency.
  6. Jeff has talked in interviews about the difficulty replicating the song in a live setting.
  7. I had a good time at the show last night. For my taste, the setlist focused on too many obscure songs from the least popular Wilco albums. It is hard for me to believe Wilco would play Message from Mid-bar before playing Sunloathe. A new way of looking at it...they only played 3 songs off of What's Your 20 (I'm not counting the hootenanny set). That said, I commend Wilco for taking on this setlist and they did a great job executing against it. Highlights: Kicking TV, Wheel, Lonely 1, She's a Jar.
  8. You needn't worry about Bird tonight as he's playing LA. Unfortunately I believe he lives out there now (Thanks Jeff Garlin podcast for filling me in) so the chances seems slim for Thu/Fri?? I'd love to see Leroy come out or Coomer. Glenn made a comment during his OTSOF residency that he is a fan of Ken's work - maybe that helps open up the possibility. Any chance of the Blisters doing Just a Kid w/ the band? Edit: Looks like Leroy has gigs Thu/Fri so it would have to happen tonight.
  9. Great Wilco show. Pieholden after 54 shows!! It did just seem like another song in the show and I think part of that was not being able to hear the Total Pros. I did think the Total Pros were much more prominent on the remaining songs they played on. Great great setlist. Each band member had some really nice moments tonight. I'm going tonight and want to see a Pat heavy show. I felt like last night Jeff's guitar shined, Glenn was awesome and John had some killer moments including singing his song and doing awesome backups on Can't Stand It among others. I thought Jeff's "attitude" helped t
  10. Loyal VCer looking for one for 12/12. Reach out to me if you have one!
  11. Mavis birthday party tonight!
  12. I saw him open for Ryan a few weeks ago. He puts on a good show. I'd recommend catching him.
  13. Sam Amidon is playing the Hideout on the 7th. Nick Lowe is free to open for Wilco on the 8th after his gigs in Chicago on the 6th & 7th. That would be a good choice IMO.
  14. Opening acts are starting to get announced for these + the Milwaukee show. I wonder how long the Wilco sets will be given the opening act Milwaukee - Disappears 12/ 5: Sam Amidon
  15. Two more thoughts for this thread: 1. Why hasn't Tweedy played in Chicago? 2. Spencer is listed among some very impressive names for the Mavis 75 show. Not sure if that is earned, but really cool for him. http://www.mavis75.com/
  16. Glenn Kotche. Caught last night's Kotche event on drumming and it was fantastic. Looking forward to the performance tonight.
  17. First video I've watched from these shows. You guys weren't kidding about crowd noise. I just love Glenn's slow mo drumming.
  18. Totally agree. My favorite run is still the Kicking TV shows at the Vic. 4 nights with super similar setlists filled with almost all AGIB and YHF songs and almost no songs from their back catalog.
  19. I'm over a week late to add my comments, but I'm not aware of a rule about that. Wilco show #54 for me. The setlist is up there with the best of them. The Being There and Hootenanny encores were so great. I found the 4 strong stretch of Track 1's (Either Way>Break Your Heart>Art of A>At Least) interesting and was hoping for Must Be High. As seems typical, a slow building set. We had seats in the reserved area which was awesome - perfect sight lines for all musicians and flexibility to arrive at 8pm. Loved that. Has anyone else ever noticed that Glenn's arms look to be in slow mo
  20. I'm going to get technical on you (get ready)...They actually posted: "Today in Wilco History: Wilco releases Being There on October 29, 1996" so...happy 18th birthday Being There. I love you too.
  21. I caught the Yield show! Amazing to say the least. My favorite album of theirs. They didn't do a full album in Minny so I wouldn't count on it in Denver (although I hope you get an amazing show). Eddie came into the crowd during Porch and was about 2 feet away from me which was a cool experience.
