  1. St Vincent Pettyfest Pitchfork - Friday only (primarily for Beck) Phish Potentially: The Both Chris Robinson Brotherhoood Riot Fest Motley Crue/ Alice Cooper
  2. What did you think of Fred's performance in I'm Trying to Break Your Heart? Curious how far the hatred goes...
  3. $500 or so to see Pearl Jam at Wrigley last summer. Great show, but not worth it. The tickets were sold for profit at least a couple times before getting to me at that crazy price.
  4. Josh Freese was in GNR for a time so that isn't that far off base.
  5. Same band, same thing happened in 1993. Izzy Stradlin came back for about 5 shows. Unlike Duff, he had left on much harsher terms though. He is Axl's buddy these days and plays with the band occasionally. Weird thing to me is that Duff is going to have to play some crappy Chinese Democracy era songs...
  6. I'm reading "The Son" by Philipp Meyer. I have about 100 pages to go (450 done) and it is a great read.
  7. Seems unlikely that Jeff will take off both the 8th and the 9th between Mountain Jam and the DC show. I bet another gig gets added on the East Coast...
  8. another Glenn video: http://www.spin.com/articles/glenn-kotche-adventureland-video-album-wilco/?utm_source=spintwitter&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=spintwitter
  9. Guess not...they cancelled. Cancelled tomorrow in Minneapolis too. They appear to be playing Letterman tomorrow - lame if that is the reason for the cancellation.
  10. Came across this on his twitter feed. Thought it was worth passing along. I'm impressed. http://zildjian.com/Videos/All-Videos#/v/IkLCg6zNlz8
  11. https://www.biddingforgood.com/auction/item/item.action?id=208097768 One 8-hour day of recording a song at the world famous Wilco Loft. Your session will be tracked by a staff engineer and overseen by Jeff Tweedy who will also help you produce and arrange your song....and maybe even play on it if you need him to! You will leave with a CD of a finished mix. Currently at $7100
  12. Details are slowly emerging on the newest Minus 5 release, "Scott the Hoople in the Dungeon of Horror". Jeff Tweedy plays guitar on it. 5 LPs. Record Store Day only. Looking forward to listening....
  13. Wilco did a great job on the Americana tour with the strangest guests if you ask me. The show I saw featured a bunch of jaw droppers: Wilco w/ Warren Haynes (amazing) & w/ Ian Hunter (amazing) Pearl Jam 20 show at Alpine Valley had a ton too. I saw: All Night (w/ Glen Hansard, David Garza & Joseph Arhur backing vocals) Habit w/ Liam Finn Red Mosquito (w/ Julian Casablancas) Elderly Woman Behind The Counter A Small Town (w/ Dhani Harrison) New World w/John Doe Smile (w/ Glen Hansard) Hunger Strike (Chris Cornell duets with Vedder) Reach Down (w/ backing vocals by Eddie Vedder, Glen
  14. I'll see him at Pitchfork. Interested to see what the setlist looks like given the album he's supporting...as in how he will mix up the up tempo with the slow tempo.
  15. Lucius and You Won't at High Noon Saloon
  16. Margert's podcast, Monsters of Talk, from last week features Mikae and was recorded back in December. It is about 40 minutes and I found Mikael to be very entertaining in it. He talks mostly about Wilco and specifically about the owl and touring on Wilco's bus. Thought I would share in case others wanted to check it out.
  17. How come? I saw their last tour and thought it was great. 360
  18. Get On Your Boots was equally as weird as Numb in my book
  19. Pre-order the Adventureland album here: http://bangonacan.org/store/music/adventureland mix tape Glenn put together here: http://www.wqxr.org/#!/story/wilcos-glenn-kotche-spins-offbeat-influences/ I'm digging the mix tape.
  20. 124 days since the last Wilco show. That number seems destined to stretch until at least June which would put the break at 230 days. Their longest break ever between shows was 226 days (Sept '10 - May '11) leading up to The Whole Love. I miss Wilco live shows...
  21. There once was a day where Wilco was the Jeff Tweedy backup band. Seems that the band has stabilized its lineup but maybe at the expense of letting Jeff record the styles he wants to??
