  1. It comes off as arrogant. The last straw for me would be if they go into real estate
  2. No, Wilco doesn't dodge questions. They are very open. I just don't know why they would participate in an article about Wilco Inc.
  3. Reason: Lose artistic credibility. Comes off as arrogant. Opens up a range of questions about the reason behind there actions: artist decision? business decision etc.
  4. Why did Wilco participate in this article? They want us to understand how smart they are? How rich they are? Forget how lackluster WTA was?
  5. Pearl Jam if I can find a ticket under $250 which isn't looking likely
  6. can't wait to see PC at Pitchfork next weekend. The cd is great.
  7. Fun. & Delta Spirit for free at Taste of Chicago tonight
  8. Great write up. Quite a bit different from the '08 opening for Neil Young tour where they did the same ol' same ol'
  9. These setlists are great. Night after night. Reminds me of the 2003 tour opening for REM - mixing it up big time even given the time constraints.
  10. Hi - I was across from you at dinner. I think the band/ management forgot about the on stage request aspect. After hearing nothing and more nothing from them leading up to the show, I sent an email about 4 hours before the gates opened: "Hey [taking out name] We are on the way and are looking forward to the weekend. Quick question- do you have details on the following:"and a chance to pick a song live onstage for Wilco to perform during the band’s all-request set on the festival’s opening night." Do I get to make a request? If so, awesome, how does this go down?" Coincidentally (I think n
  11. Countdown over: a tour New countdown begun for 3 days from now...
  12. Interesting way to look at it. I wouldn't have thought of it. Writing songs for somebody else to sing seems quite different from a solo album to me. The Chelsea Walls soundtrack on the other hand would be my pick for the closest things to a solo album from Jeff.
  13. As an update, the golden ticket winners do not get to request a song Friday. One was picked out of a hat to choose a song for sat night. Wasn't me. Be at SS shortly... 14. The band went to a game in the middle of the winter residency. John even did Score-O. That said, who knows if they really cared about the outcome...
  15. Best opener I've seen (will probably catch flak for this): Welcome to the Jungle. 1/1/2001. First "GNR" show in 7+ years - Buckethead, Brain, Tommy Stinson - pretty intense opening for a show that started around 3 in the morning.
  16. Mast Brothers ‏@mastbrothers34mAnother golden ticket found at Barista Parlor!!! http://instagram.com/p/att89VQadg/
  17. Thought this was really interesting: http://blog.thecurrent.org/2013/06/the-audacity-of-low-what-does-a-band-owe-us-when-we-pay-to-see-them-perform/ going to see them at SS and Pitchfork, not sure what I'd think about a one song set.

  19. He made that pretty clear at the time. A lot of people took his message as insinuating that he was selling out by joining Wilco.
  20. I was at the show last night. I thought it might be cool to see Swift, but it sounded pretty terrible.
  21. Yes, kidding. I am also not sure how we submit our request.
  22. The 2001 & 2003 incarnations of Wilco did pull the song off without horns. I doubt they'll have a ton of time to rehearse the song and agree they may pass on playing it. Maybe I should just request Impossible Germany.
