The Tweedy Colbert episode airs Thursday. The press release has conflicting info.

I ended up forking over $45/ticket (third pricing tier - tiers were 75/60/45/30 before fees) to see the show from the Chicago Theater in the balcony. I'm excited. Sharon Van Etten will be an excellent opening act I think. Now, just need to wait 5 months for the show.

am I the only one who can see my post above from earlier today? Just kidding. Glad to see some other fans out there. Would love to get other people's take on whether he is worth $90.

Just saw that Nick & Bad Seeds are putting out a new album in February. Also touring in March/April. I've never seen NC with or without the B.S. Do they put on a good show? I was surprised to see that tickets are either $90 or $45 when they play Chicago (even though they have a great opening act in Sharon Van Etten).

I didn't go last year, but in all other years nobody was shut out during the Tweedy performance. Getting there at doors opening time has always gotten everybody in as far as I know. I will say that the lineup looks better than ever this year though so maybe that will change things. Jeff is also playing a bit later than the last few years if my memory is correct.

I've read the same thing. To me, that is just a polite way of saying that Keith's playing isn't very good. Check out Honky Tonk W from the first show in youtube. Yikes.

why get together to do these press interviews instead of showing up and playing?!

Wilco to headline Snow Daze Festival in Vail, CO Dec 15

I'm not going, but I did enter the contest the other week. Just got an email today offering tickets with the convenience charges dropped which I thought was cool. -
I had the same reaction to this in The Newsroom which ultimately turned me off from watching it. So far, the soap opera aspects of Homeland haven't gone too far for my taste. There are some good parts of it in Season 2.

Start Me Up was released in 1981 on Tattoo You. So there is something from the 80's. Also, Chuck implies that the band will not be mixing it up which makes sense for a 5 show "tour": http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/rolling-stones-chuck-leavell-on-assembling-their-reunion-set-list-20121126

Heard the Thanks I Get yesterday - a Thanksgiving themed show on a MI radio station as I was driving from Detroit area to Chicago. Weird hearing b sides on the radio.

I have no insight when the shows will be other than that there isn't a consistant time other than Feb - April. See prior show dates: March 30-31, 2012 April 15-16, 2011 March 12-13, 2010 February 13-14, 2009 -
Jeff Tweedy to appear at Emanuel Congregation tribute concert 11/10/2012

I went to this fundraiser in 2010 and have to say it was a lot of fun. Very strange setting to see Jeff do his thing. -
Is Wilco considering this?

I'm late to the thread, but most put in another vote for Freaks & Geeks.

Maybe, but he does say he is playing going to lead it off by playing "maybe my favorite" -

love how their cool credibility is immediately challenged when the host leads it off by playing his favorite song, You and I. -
I will also recommend that Pittsburgh show - really fun to hear those versions of the Ghost songs.

Wilco — 9/15/12, Chicago, IL (Hideout Block Party)
nalafej replied to linclink's topic in After The Show
My 50th Wilco show! A milestone I didn't realize until this morning. I really appreciated the adventurous setlist. The band's energy seemed flat to me. Maybe a symptom of not playing for a couple weeks or having to concentrate on the songs they don't always play...I don't know. Still a fabulous performance and a great time. Great event - I thought it was set up really well Saturday. Food trucks were eclectic and then musically Wild Belle was a nice find. The leader singer's posture on stage reminded me of Axl Rose. So, those are my random thoughts on the show. -
Yep - we get to watch Steven Tyler sing Zep...

I agree. Solo versions > studio version.
