  1. Totally forgot to watch for the Tweedy stuff. Can anybody fill us in?
  2. 5. I also bought a shirt from the Casino Queen Casino when I went to a show there. The Kay-settes starring Butcher's Blind Vic Theater 2005 Riviera Residency Evening with Wilco Solid Sound I
  3. I didn't get tickets for Civic, but my tickets for the rest cost: Riv $54.16 Vic $54.16 Metro $51.06 Lincoln Hall $105.50
  4. Jeff has commented that he was happy to win. I believe his parents really dug it and that made him happy. You are correct. Best Alternative album.
  5. ? I don't get it. If you implying Axl is old, he's only 49 (5 years older than Tweedy), and if you are implying he is fat I don't really see it. Photo gallery from Chicago: http://www.chicagotribune.com/entertainment/music/chi-guns-roses-at-allstate-arena-pg,0,2045814.photogallery . No bigger than most of us.
  6. Axl Rose sounds great, looks slightly younger than his age, remains a great performer and plays a 3 hour show with all the hits + 2 great AC/DC cover songs. Best songs of the night: Jungle, Brownstone, Rocket Queen and Better. The band includes 3 guitarists (1 too many) and 2 keyboardists (2 too many). The crowd, understandably, only recognizes 2-3 of the band members including Axl which makes it strange that there are 6 different sections of the show dedicated to band members – not exactly solos, but not GNR songs and not good. This pretty much derails the momentum of the show every 10 mi
  7. I'm going to the show in Chicago next week. They are playing 3 hours shows ending at 2-3AM. Should be interesting. First time seeing them (including Ashba) since 2002.
  8. Maybe they are pulling a Chicago and announcing smaller and smaller venues? Wikipedia has Palladium at 4,000 and wiltern at 2300. One can hope.
  9. January 25th @ Wiltern in LA is on Wilcoworld now...
  10. I just got two at 10:21 - don't give up
  11. I was wondering why they aren't charging more. 500 X $100 isn't that big a donation and people would pay more to see Wilco at Lincoln Hall.
  12. Love Petty. Love him. Mojo is just terrible though. He has been good in the last ten years though - highway companion is awesome as is the mudcrutch album.
  13. I have never seen reserved seating there. Typically the floor is standing and the balcony has some bar stools along the railing with standing room behind those. wouldn't be surprised if they remove the stools for this show.

    Metro-tastic

Given that they didn't say "final Chicago performance" when advertising the Metro show I would assume Chicago is in for one more??

Next step wouldn't have to be smaller. They go up in size from Opera to Riv then down and down again. that said, I don't see them doing any place huge given that there is a risk it wouldn't sell out because of all the other shows. Cool to see them playing new places. Congress or Logan Square could be new options.
  16. I didn't catch the broadcast. Any hint if this is the last of this run?
  17. Assuming that the show will be Friday or Saturday following Vic, Chicago Theater, Lincoln Hall, Cadillac Palace, Auditorium are booked both days Friday at Metro is free but Saturday is booked Park West, UIC, Aragon are open
  18. I think this has kept them in the Chicago media for three weeks. Pretty good PR strategy. Can't wait to see if the fun continues.
  19. It does. The Vic sale was the best setup. No presales is a good thing. That means, we fans only have to dedicate 30 minutes of our time once instead of 3 times. The 2 ticket limit and will call is good on the front end - I hope they are set up well at the Vic and Riv to process us all without tickets.
  20. tickets are $54 after fees. I was lucky this am!
  21. Would have thought it would have been Fred A if anybody given his history with Jeff/Wilco.
  22. I agree - I don't see him doing Riv, Vic or subsequent Chicago shows. I think adding him for the additional shows is a great move for all. Really enjoyed his performance in Nashville.
