It is interesting to me that you all would rather see a live release or the discarded recordings along the way than a new set of new songs. I want the latter. It isn't even close.

Just messing with you. I too am excited (and surprised) by the news.

Did it leak? PM please.

Not in order... Bruce @ Wrigley Night 1. I've seen Bruce 2-3 times before this, but haven't really been all that impressed. Decided to give it (and concerts at Wrigley Field) another shot. Great great show. I wouldn't have thought that Bruce could pace a 3 hour show well, but he really did. I'm a huge Pearl Jam fan, so having Eddie Vedder show up out of the blue to sing Atlantic City was the highlight. Chris Robinson Brotherhood @ Taste of Randolph. Can it get much better than a virtually free show outside in Chicago in the summer? CRB played their best songs and it made for a great evenin

Just finished Mystic River and then picked up and started Rod. They are quite different.

i don't understand what you mean. Not sure it matters though. We disagree about the performance. It's really not a big deal. -

Who are you to allow or not allow me to dislike script reading? I confirmed the definition of bored and can confirm I was bored. I'm not saying you were bored or that the band was bored. I'm not saying they didn't try something different. They failed to keep me interested in what was going on. I won't go see them again. I was hoping they'd play music when I went to see them. Most bands that i choose to pay to see do keep me engaged for their entire performance. -

I saw the Chicago show where they read the Seinfeld script. I would call that an off night. Boring. -
Actually, 3 for 30K and one for 28K is what I heard while there.

I thought Jeff's opening song choice (What are they doing in Heaven by Washington Phillips) was great. Nice way to say something without saying it about the CT event.

No mention.

Jeff played an acoustic "You Are Not Alone" talked about how the event came about 10+ years ago, The Blisters, the concept of the event, song requests, the auctions. Kinda snoozy. Since the tour finished up, Jeff said he's mostly been working on Mavis' second record which will be finished next month. Doors open 5:45PM.

WBEZ is Chicago's NPR station. Airs today between 2 - 4 PM CST

First off, Is Bono ok??? Plenty of folks to play this in the future. The old fogies will be Bon Jovi and Pearl Jam + Metallica and Dave Matthews. Slightly younger generation will have Kanye, Lady Gaga, Alicia Keys, Black Keys, Green Day, Taylor Swift and many of the DJs that everybody loves right now. Sure – rock n’ roll is dying, but pop (ular) music is not.

Prince has played 17 shows this year: 2 in Oct at LA clubs 3 in Chicago at the big arena (I live in CHI and the first show was reported by many many people to be terrible, but the others to be great) 12 shows in Australia I agree - not sure why he is on this list

The Tweedy Colbert episode airs Thursday. The press release has conflicting info.

I ended up forking over $45/ticket (third pricing tier - tiers were 75/60/45/30 before fees) to see the show from the Chicago Theater in the balcony. I'm excited. Sharon Van Etten will be an excellent opening act I think. Now, just need to wait 5 months for the show.

am I the only one who can see my post above from earlier today? Just kidding. Glad to see some other fans out there. Would love to get other people's take on whether he is worth $90.

Just saw that Nick & Bad Seeds are putting out a new album in February. Also touring in March/April. I've never seen NC with or without the B.S. Do they put on a good show? I was surprised to see that tickets are either $90 or $45 when they play Chicago (even though they have a great opening act in Sharon Van Etten).

I didn't go last year, but in all other years nobody was shut out during the Tweedy performance. Getting there at doors opening time has always gotten everybody in as far as I know. I will say that the lineup looks better than ever this year though so maybe that will change things. Jeff is also playing a bit later than the last few years if my memory is correct.

I've read the same thing. To me, that is just a polite way of saying that Keith's playing isn't very good. Check out Honky Tonk W from the first show in youtube. Yikes.

why get together to do these press interviews instead of showing up and playing?!
