He's also a great enough player to get to decide if he wants to retire or un-retire as many times as he wishes.

One more time...I guess FDR was great unless you were one of the countless Japanese-Americans in the country in the '40s.

Has that not become obvious over time? The list begins with Wilco and their decision to be overcompensated for providing Volkswagen with songs.

I especially liked how Susan Collins got up there and called $789 Billion a "fiscally responsible" number.

Just say you hate Kobe for how the media treats him. Apparently, that's an acceptable reason (see Favre, Brett).

One of the all-time greats. It was always fun watching him play.

We went to Kauai and the Big Island for our honeymoon. These guide books proved to be invaluable. The people have been there repeatedly and clue you into some hidden secrets, great restaurants and bars, best beaches for snorkeling, etc., and the can't miss sights. I highly recommend it.

Well, I don't have that much power so a bat that size would be wasted on me. Plus, I like to have a little more bat control. So something in the 33-34 range and 27-28 ounces. I'm not looking to hit home runs, just doubles in the gaps. It seems most good bats are in the $200-$300 range. I really don't know if there are any high quality bats that are cheaper.

some DVD info, but mostly about Blu-Ray

All Blu-Ray players play DVDs. Some are even better than others at "upconverting" the image quality of the DVD. -
I've never owned a bat in my entire life from little league to high school baseball to softball. But after some nice fantasy football winnings, I thought it might be a good purchase to make. Any thoughts on what are some good bats to buy? I've only briefly looked at Miken's Freak, a new DeMarini, or a new Easton.

No, it was really bad.

I think I can decipher this post enough to say (for about the 47th time), no I did not like Bush. I especially did not like Bush's economic policies. I did not like the stimulus bill that passed before the election. I think this one right now is even worse than that one.

I assume he's talking about the various area critics awards, like the NY Film Critics Circle, etc.
-
He's turning out to be more dangerous and worse than I even feared. Every job he wants to create is a government, public sector job. The health care aspects of the "stimulus" bill are downright scary. And it appears now, more than ever, he is in way over his head.

I'm sure it has already been said, but I can't wait for the new album to come out. At least, then we'll have something else to talk about instead of rehashing all these arguments every couple of months.

Post of the year.

Yeah, but if I wanted an entire concert, I would go to a concert. I imagine this will be similar to Sunken Treasure and be more of a document of the band on the road, which will be more interesting.

That's an incredible set. Handshake Drugs is my favorite live song of theirs and it does a good job of spanning their catalog, with the exception of not having anything from A.M. My only question is do I drive 45 minutes out of the way to pick this up at an indie store in Dallas or wait two weeks until it comes out in regular stores?

Annoying? Really? One of my favorites on the album. I thought the Golden Age performance was weak, too. But there are only a few SNL performances that don't suffer from similar issues. A friend I was watching it with had never heard of them and was impressed even after Golden Age, so hopefully all new listeners had that reaction, much like The Bunk.

I think we should all collectively write a book and title it, How to Properly Live Your Life by the Via Chicago Message Board.
