  1. My guess is because Heavy Metal Drummer is a much better song than either of those two.
  2. The only song for me that really didn't register on the first listen was Standing O. Open Mind also didn't do a whole lot for me, either. Every other song sounded great. And there is something about Whole Love that really works for me. It's not my favorite, but the guitar in the background, Jeff's falsetto, the backwards guitar, and the harmonies all come together for me really well.
  3. Nothing could possibly top the first-last combo of I Am Trying to Break Your Heart (their best song) and Reservations.
  4. I listened to it once in the background and liked what I heard. But I plan on giving a better listen tonight so I can join in on the opinions. My problem is that I usually like every Wilco album after the first day. The last two albums gradually fell out of favor with me, so there's no guarantee.
  5. Did someone really say they don't like "Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite" and "Honey Pie"?
  6. It should count more than Toronto, anyway.

I hope you're right. I can't remember how they did the past albums, though. I seem to remember just being able to tune into the SBS stream instead of actually clicking on something to get it started. I don't even remember WTA.
  8. He had one about internet comments a while back that was great. Everything he writes is incredible. I'm always a sucker for quality sports writing, though.

I'm hoping the songs will be clearly labeled (I'm sure they will be), but since it is unlikely that I'll be able to get on right at noon, I refuse to listen to it out of order.
  10. Posnanski might just be the best writer out there right now.
  11. That's interesting to me only because I think AGIB is Wilco's best-produced and best-sounding album.
  12. There does seem to be a consensus on the top 4 (YHF, AGIB, BT, ST) and the bottom 3 (AM, SBS, WTA). Of course, I think that speaks more to the magical run Wilco was on during those 4 albums as opposed to any perceived severe drop-off in overall quality of the other three. And I still think Sky Blue Sky is their least accomplished album. There are only 3 songs that I find essential (You Are My Face, Impossible Germany, Side With the Seeds).
  13. What's with all the hostility? This aggression cannot stand, man.
  14. I see nothing wrong with poking fun at the shameless begging for an illicit leak of an album.
  15. Thanks...I missed that thread for some reason.
  16. Nice interview. Thanks for the link.
  17. I prefer the Wilco Book CD over Sky Blue Sky.
  18. 1. Yankee Hotel Foxtrot 2. A Ghost is Born 3. Being There 4. Summerteeth 5. A.M. 6. Wilco (the album) 7. Sky Blue Sky
  19. I've been listening to the Smashing Pumpkins. Talk about a band that hasn't held up. There wasn't one album I could get all the way through.
  20. Again. Album of the year for me so far.
