  1. DOne, though the big guy sat opposite me is now eyeing me strangely. Maybe I've booked myself a Christmas party to remember.
  2. What a fine day for a lunchtime stroll. London looking pretty spiffing (for a change).
  3. Did he have a strange accent and suddenly appear in town in 1945? School: just like this:- Occassional slaps at home. The most distressing thing I remember (must have been about 5 to 7) is a few times when things all got too much for my Mum, she pretended to be Italian and not understand us. Where that came from I have no idea. She did have a bit of Sophia Loren about her on a good day though and was Miss Cardiff Seamstress 1959.
  4. UK Festival awards. Don't like the proliferation of awards ceremonies, but here's a chance to win free tickets and free beer for next year just by voting. http://www.festivalawards.com/ I liked the best portaloo category myself. Cambridge got my vote of course where it was eligible.
  5. I don't know - gradual pickling in red wine from the inside - you may make a scientific breakthrough!
  6. Before or after the life threatening head injury? You are obsessed by that show aren't you
  7. From the bizarre (Steve Colbert (You know who you are )) to the ridiculous (Damien D). Such have been the comparisons. Actually maybe I'm the bastard offspring of both - the head of Colbert but the heart of an Irish boozer. Just look in my profile for a (slightly fuzzy) pic from 3 years ago.
  8. I remember the TOTP performance. Can't find that, but there is this:-
  9. The back story ... http://www.rte.ie/sport/2006/1007/ireland2.html Glasgow kiss I know. Not sure what a Dublin kiss is.
  10. Indeed. He's a big lad. Hope you didn't mention the dreaded word "Cyprus". Saw some adverts for him today - touring arenas here soon as part of the support for Willy Nelson.
  11. I've eaten fried grasshoppers (not bad, but legs get stuck between the teeth). Maybe imagine them more as a food resource.
  12. I've said this before I think. Cardiff, Newport, and Liverpool are hotbeds of British rules baseball (all ports where sailors brought back an amended version ot the game from the US). We played at school instead of cricket in the summer. Cricket balls are the hardest.
  13. See, that's where our cricketing heritage kicks in. We can always catch our own puke. "You lot" won't go for anything without a baseball mitten on.
  14. I know a man who is ... http://forums.viachicago.org/index.php?s=&...st&p=774693
