  1. The weather forcast looks fabulous. I caught a good year when I was there many moons ago, but by 7pm there was a chill in the air, and it was definitely a bit nippy at 3am on the Sunday. Looks like no such problems this year. Dead jealous. (We've been having an Indian summer here too. Still in t-shirts.)
  2. First episode of the new series last night. Very stylish. Like a 1920s Sin City, but better all round. Excellent soundtrack for Nick Cave/White Stripes/PJ Harvey fans.

Out of interest, looked at the Amazon.com site:- Amazon Best Sellers Rank: #49 in Music #1 in Music > Alternative Rock > Indie & Lo-Fi > Indie Rock #1 in Music > Indie Music > Rock > General #21 in Music > Rock

  6. Couple of shots I had not seen before. One for the crotch addicts.
  7. Very short Q&A in advance of the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival. Highlight: 'I always wanted to use a sticker that says, “It makes me want to kill myself. But in a good way.”' There's little need to read the atricle once you've read that. http://www.sfgate.com/music/popquiz/article/Pop-Quiz-Jeff-Tweedy-5778917.php?cmpid=hp-hc-entertainment
  8. Something we knew already:- "Wilco's Jeff Tweedy Dislikes the Term 'Dad Rock'" http://www.spin.com/articles/jeff-tweedy-spencer-dad-rock-wilco/ Also, a bit more JT and Spencer http://www.esquire.com/blogs/culture/jeff-tweedy-interview
  9. That first split second of JT deadpan in the sidecar cracked me up.
  10. Really don't know where to start there - superb!
  11. HazelThey cought (sic) you in the soil safe beneath the swarm Edit - CD version if it makes a difference. Makes me feel a bit less discriminated against by the vinlysts :-)
  12. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b04jmx7l Marvellous indeed. Also recommended from the past year:- The Fall Line of Duty series 2 Peaky Blinders
  13. I noticed one too the other night - it wasn't that one but can't remember it now. Something like coud for could, that sort of thing. I may remember to look for it tonight.

  15. Perhaps a bit more here:- "Jeff And Spencer Tweedy On Making Songs Together" http://www.npr.org/2014/09/25/349038144/jeff-and-spencer-tweedy-on-making-songs-together "Audio for this story from Morning Edition will be available at approximately 9:00 a.m. ET." - so I haven't listedn yet. Back to the general issue of the songwriting process. Whilst I find it very interesting, and am not complaining about the results, there is something I find a bit unsettling about all the discussion of word excersises, fitting words to sounds, etc. I can't believe it's happening for anything but a minori
  16. A few interuptions, but I've got to the end now. Nice to hear some of the old style screaching on Only The Lord Knows
  17. http://thequietus.com/articles/16312-jeff-tweedy-wilco-interview Some more interesting discussion on the songwriting process.
  18. I'm glad you left some cold pizza and Doritos lying around (though I had the stretch the 5 seconds rule but I'm pretty hungry) - I'm having a little lunch here watching the recording. I have microwaved some of the Nachos Grande I found in Donna's tuperware box. Tasty!
  19. Who's on the wall? My guess - Ronnie Lane / ? / Noel Fielding Can't see how the last one is correct though but that's who it looks like to me :-)
  20. http://www.chicagotribune.com/entertainment/music/kot/ct-jeff-tweedy-spencer-family-illness-20140922-column.html I get a US readers only message and can't read it, which seems a bit bizarre. Please pass on any useful news.
