Flaming Lips/Particle Kid have postponed the whole northwest segment of their tour. COVID in the touring party. I was supposed to see them Wednesday. Just as well as I haven't been feeling too hot for the last week. Hoping they reschedule soon. I need a bit of escape & the Lips are excellent at providing that.

I'm about 20 rows back. The ADA seats are a bit elevated so I don't have to stand if the crowd does. I can't do it. Same seats for Dylan were $150. Almost all the shows I have tickets for are in clubs with reasonable prices like Amyl & the Sniffers, Strand of Oaks & Mike Campbell. He was the most for a small show @ $50. I'd much rather see him play 2.5 hours on his own than 40 minutes as a opening act, so I got lucky on that one. I've got Flaming Lips with Particle Kid next week. The Lips always keep things real with the money. I've seen Neil in a lot of different guises too including

I know what you mean. The presale was confusing. I ended up paying a bit under $100 a ticket for decent ADA seats. first 10 rows were $300. Bob Dylan was even more money. between those 2 I've pretty much blown the concert budget. i did get tickets for Isobel Campbell in a tiny club for $20. bargain! i've instituted a new policy. i'm not going to see "legacy" acts anymore. i need decent & recent material before i'm going to shell out. I'm also pretty much avoiding the special summer shows at wineries & such. they're all more expensive & the crowds obnoxious. wine, picnics, group hug

Crowded House US tour announced for the fall. Excited for this one!

I got to meet Robbie Robertson. It was a pretty big thrill for me.

Scored great tickets for Dylan in Seattle. Spendy though, it was actually a little past what I wanted to spend. I just got my tax refund though. I've been seeing him since 1978 & figure there's a good chance this will be the last time. I heard an incredible tape from earlier in the tour. He's doing almost all of Rough & Rowdy Ways which is a great thing

I saw Crowded House listed on a festival lineup in the states. Fingers crossed a proper tour ensues. I've been a huge Neil Finn fan for over 40 years. Have met him a few times, extremely nice guy. I even paid big bucks to go see him & Mike Campbell with Fleetwood Mac. It was totally worth it!

Wish I could see one of those shows. Colbert did mention there's an anniversary package of the album coming in September. Sign me up for that one!

I just watched a video of Danny Elfman @ Coachella. Unreal good! In his words: a strange little show.

I listened to this band & don't get it. Don't read anything into that, it's just me. I'm old & set in my ways. Enjoy!

What channel is it on? I used to subscribe when I was a youngster. I remember getting a Changesonebowie LP as a bonus for subscribing. Life changing event.

Did you enjoy Sparks?

That was about when I was trying to get t-shirts for me & the date. Neumos is kind of a maze as there is more than one room. To get to the merch from the balcony you actually had to exit the club on the main floor & go back in. I didn't hear it but it was probably a minute to 90 seconds in length. My back had hit the excruciating level by then, too. So sue me~!

Guided by Voices were excellent last night albeit a bit short by their standards. "Only" 2.5 hours, haha. Robert Pollard is still in pretty good shape for his age & alcohol intake. & he's been on a hot streak with the records. Lots of the new material & a good spread of "hits". There were some missing like "Game of Pricks" & "Don't Stop Now" but the show was about perfect length. Sometimes GBV can run out of steam. again alcohol intake involved, haha.

I'm a bit late on this (don't have Netflix) but it's excellent. I'm a recent convert to F1 (I should get bonus points for getting into it before I saw the show). I've given up on NASCAR. They've ruined that with the rule changes. Indy car has some potential. I hope it continues to come back. I watched the whole Indy 500 when I was in the hospital last year & it was an amazing race. F1 though is just awesome. You get everything in the series. Lot of enjoyable soap opera & politics. Some colorful personalities, too. I'm a fan of Lewis Hamilton. I have set myself a goal of being in good e

Just scored Mike Campbell tickets. Club show in May. He's been a fave since high school. Amazing guitar player.

"Hand of God" will blow you away!

Nick Cave was amazing last night. He was in a great mood (can be a factor with him) & Warren Ellis was downright goofy. Nice, long set & very cool lighting. Here's a pic from my crappy phone camera that turned out ok.
