I got tix for the 2nd Seattle show. I saw them a lot in the early days in small places (spoiled) but it has been at least 10 years. Have seen Eddie pop up at other people's shows many times since then. My friend has only seen them once, so I pleasantly surprised her & got these. Actually we're both excited. I did the new ticketbastard verified fan presale & it actually worked. At first only upper deck came up but when I hit the ADA button some great seats came up. Sadly, I qualify for that. high fever, not going. flu epidemic around here. found someone to use tickets who will appreciate. i've been having some issues & the smart move is to not go. they'll be back. bummed about it though. bundled up with some soup & college hoops.

Anyone catch Chris on SNL last night? He was amazing & had a shocking unannounced addition to his band on guitar: Mr Sturgill Simpson, who just let it rip. Don't think it's really country but man did it rock. Especially the first song. They announced Sturgill before the 2nd song. there's a Filthy Friends gig scheduled in Seattle on 1/27. hopefully he'll be at that one!

i've seen a few shows in seattle where scott has come out for "california stars" with wilco. also seen him perform "taste the ceiling" with wilco. i'm sure most are aware that scott co-wrote that with jeff.

Oh no! I knew him a little. The last time I saw him was a solo show at the Riviera in Vegas. It was a cool show that ran for awhile where he'd do his music & the music that inspired him. Told stories between songs. Talked to him for quite awhile after the show. Smithereens were a great band! Already missing him...

no, this was a definite bad on josh. i think he is contrite but he's going to have to take responsibility for his actions. they are a good band but this is a real bad optic especially if the photographer wasn't doing anything out of line.

Pence is just as scary. Perhaps more so since he seems sort of reasonable at first glance. Dig below the surface though & things get a lot scarier. He's one of those guys who can't wait to hang with his bud Jesus. Just the finger you want on the button.

singing really great songs! he's also a very underrated guitar player. that can happen when you have a guitar monster like nels cline in the band.

they are stunning live. lots of good boots out there if you surf around, including compilations of US & Europe where you get every song played in mostly really high quality recordings. this may be heresy but i think i would rather see neil with potr than the horse at this point. potr really seem to have energised neil.

& of course it's not the artists who are reaping the benefits from this for the most part. same as it ever was in the music business....
