  1. it is an awesome show. enjoy!
  2. oh hell yeah. third bill on the famous black & blue tour. blue oyster cult, black sabbath with dio on vocals & molly hatchet.
  3. Patterson & I are roughly the same vintage (he might be 2 years younger). Grew up on the same stuff with some geographic variances. I did see the real Lynyrd Skynyrd though at a young age!
  4. If you get a chance to see Midnight Oil, go. The show Wednesday was a stunner. They are playing at least as well as they were when they called it a day 15 years ago. I hope this will spur them to put out some new material after the tour. Outstanding show! 5. You know I hate to say this but I'm glad they broke up before they ruined their legacy. I was (still luv the old stuff) a huge Stones fan & it really makes me sad to see the current state of the band. It has become a business entity & not much else. There was a glimpse of the old fire with the blues record but live its same old, same old. I went to the 50th anniversary tour & was very disappointed. The only really good part of the show was the Mick Taylor cameo & they only let him play one song. I'm not counting Satisfaction. Keith's best days are behind him & it has become
  6. Giles Martin did a phenomenal job on it. It's the first time the stereo mix has been something other than an afterthought. He definitely learned from his dad. I'm quite fond of the "Love" soundtrack. Yeah, it was different but is really cool. I've got the surround sound version of it. I've seen the show twice, several years apart. It is constantly evolving. I'd go again! Back to Pepper: It's never been my favorite Beatles record but was an important part of my childhood (I was 6 when it came out). This new mix is revelatory. For instance, I'm hearing some brilliant guitar parts I've never hear
  7. The new mix of Sgt Pepper is amazing. Like hearing it for the first time.
  8. looking forward to this: https://consequenceofsound.net/2017/05/roger-waters-eviscerates-donald-trump-during-performance-of-pigs-at-tour-rehearsal-watch/
  9. Yeah, totally. REM circa Reckoning. There's a famous bootleg of the REM set out there which is awesome.
  10. I saw them open for REM circa Days of Wine. An unreal great show all around.
  11. sorry i missed this. 2 work night shows in a week (lips & u2) = rugged. has been a schizo week. started off so great with the shows. then came thursday. devasted by chris cornell's passing. + am having some extra doctor/med insurance trouble. my 2nd job. to answer your question, i've seen the lips several times. they are always stellar. this show was really great. the light show has grown to epic size. i've made my friend a fan & she loved it. told me we wouldn't be missing them if they play in town any time. good sign. hopefully won't be as long a wait as this time. they hadn't played
  12. I'm really depressed about this. The "grunge" years were my glory years career wise. So sad. Is going to be another long day.
  13. I am in total shock. I knew him a little. http://www.nbcnews.com/pop-culture/music/soundgarden-frontman-chris-cornell-dead-52-n761391
  14. Flaming Lips were amazing last night. The light show is unreal. Openers Klangstof were very good also.
  15. Ya, All I Want is You is a fave of mine also. Maybe they will change a few songs around.
  16. Nice! Luv Matthew. Totally nice guy as well as stellar musician. The Flaming Lips tonight. Finally! After U2 Sunday & Flaming Lips tonight, I finally got smart & took tomorrow off from work to recover.
  17. I thought the show was fantastic. Maybe the best I've seen them & I started with the War tour. I saw them in 1987 but got too polluted & don't remember that one. I also saw a show right when Achtung came out that was excellent. Before it was a stadium thing. This one was special though. For a stadium show, the sound was amazing. Century Link is actually quite good for stadium acoustics as it was designed with that in mind. I was in the front part of the upper deck. From youtube clips, it seems like Seattle was much better than Vancouver. There were a lot of hassles getting in Vancouver
  18. How were the Lips? Tapes I've heard from this tour have been awesome.
  19. RIP J Geils. He was a mighty guitar player!
  20. Steven Drodz. Heart & soul of the Flaming Lips. My favorite drummer & keyboard player & way up on the list of favorite guitar players. Great singer, too! "Feeling Yourself Disintegrate" has an epic guitar solo on the current tour that keeps getting better & better every time they play it. Totally emotional & perfect. So glad he's ok now....
  21. that's the beauty of neil...always keeps us guessing!
  22. always welcome new material from Greg Dulli & company. i've been playing the reissues of "Gentlemen" & "Black Love". "Black" is a desert island disc for me. The remaster is stellar.
  23. I scored front row for Midnight Oil in May, Seattle. Quite excited about this one!
