  1. Apparently, it's now been confirmed that Dave's Picks Volume 11 will be: Century II Convention Hall, Wichita, KS 11/17/72.
  2. I have no way of knowing, but I suspect that none of these songs will be performed by Wilco. Although they do play Laminated Cat, so who knows?
  3. I loved Jerry's tone throughout that entire year, so of course I loved everything he did in the movie. I took my wife (for whom all this Dead music is new), and after it was over, I told her, "You might actually hear some of those songs next month when we go to the Ratdog show." She looked less than thrilled.
  4. Anyone else catch the Bremen flick last night? Really good stuff, though with only 2 Jerry tunes and 1 Pigpen tune, it was a big dose of Bob. Gave me a whole new appreciation for One More Saturday Night and, especially, The Other One. Wow. Got up this morning and left for work and realized I had put on a purple polo shirt. Am I becoming...a Bobbyhead?
  5. Sounds like a bonus track for Sukierae to me.
  6. Listening to it now. Hell yeah. I really like it when Jeff tries something really challenging...not that I don't love California Stars or Passenger Side, etc., but I would rather see him go for broke and fail than play it safe. In this case, I think it's successful. However, I would like to hear live versions more than this studio one, I think. He's got such a cool voice, I am not all that thrilled to hear it that heavily processed.
  7. Little preview of tomorrow night's "Meetup at the Movies" Bremen show: http://www.rollingstone.com/music/videos/watch-grateful-dead-groove-on-playing-in-the-band-for-upcoming-movie-20140716 Wow, Donna's mic is pleasantly low in the mix. I didn't mind her caterwauling one bit!
  8. Wow, Jannus Landing? I caught my first Wilco show there in 1999. Small world.
  9. What do you mean by "clear?" Is that a Scientology reference?
  10. Well, this is fun: http://prog.teamrock.com/news/2014-07-09/portnoy-slams-floyd-album-as-disrespectful
  11. I've only heard a few of these new tunes, and only on an iMac, so I'm looking forward to hearing the whole album played at a relatively loud volume.
  12. Has this been posted already? Came up in my FB feed. http://consequenceofsound.net/2014/07/listen-jeff-and-spencer-tweedys-new-song-wait-for-love/
  13. I mean, if this is all they've got left creatively - and they really need the help of Polly Samson, Phil Manzanera, and all these other people - okay, good for them, trying to honor Rick Wright with his "swan song." But if it's just a cash grab, it really tarnishes the Pink Floyd legacy. Talk about going out with a whimper instead of a bang.
  14. I have seen live versions that redeemed it for me (kinda like some of you with Radio Cure and Theologians).
  15. Read the comments section. It's unbelievably, savagely funny. Here's my favorite so far:
  16. I'll help you out with that: AM - Dash 7 BT - Why Would You Wanna Live ST - We're Just Friends YHF - Radio Cure AGIB - I'm A Wheel SBS - On and On and On WTA - Everlasting Everything TWL - Sunloathe
  17. How Texas Are You? http://www.brainfall.com/quizzes/how-texas-are-you/1sm6a5/ I got a 24% and the comment "Horrible score. Foreigners like you make us want to secede" or something like that.
  18. I saw Tammy over the weekend. You guys should go see that one.
  19. A.M. - Passenger Side Being There - Misunderstood Summerteeth - Via Chicago Yankee Hotel Foxtrot - IATTBYH A Ghost Is Born - Handshake Drugs Sky Blue Sky - You Are My Face Wilco (The Album) - Bull Black Nova The Whole Love - One Sunday Morning
  20. I am in this camp too. I saw a more strongly worded statement in the comments section of one of the articles about this - I believe the expression used was "vacuously trading on the Pink Floyd name for profit" and I kind of agree with that. Then again, I didn't even go for any of the post-Waters stuff, always feeling it was "Pink Floyd Lite." EDIT: Okay, their Facebook page came up in my news feed, and it says, "Pink Floyd can confirm that they are releasing a new album "The Endless River" in October 2014. It is an album of mainly ambient and instrumental music based on the 1993/4 Division B
  21. And here they are in their current guise: http://thewho.com/blog/video/press-conference-6-30-14/
  22. Saw 'em in '79 when I was 14. Even without Moon, they were amazing.
  23. I read on my Facebook feed that Chris Robinson joined Ratdog during their set last night for Hard to Handle and Turn on Your Lovelight. Sounds pretty good to me!
