- Poor Albert Brooks, reduced to voicing Blockbuster ads. - That Lexus "H" commercial supersedes any level of uppity assholeness they ever reached before. "H"s had a better place to live than with everyday, working people? Fuck you. - Is there a less charismatic actress on Earth than that "Cold Case" woman? - I want to drown the singer of that Mac Airbook song. - I like those NCAA pro-sports spoofs. - That was a real good game.

PICS from my party last night
Sir Stewart replied to IRememberDBoon's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
If the coke party pics are circulating like the usual internet stuff does, I imagine at least one 45-50 year-old white dude is getting a call to his boss' office this week. "Dale, take a look at this link..." -
I wonder what Vlad thinks of Wilco.

PICS from my party last night

I'm guessing the furniture had to be sacrified if the party was gonna get off the ground. -
Saw the CBS Sunday Morning REM feature today. Still not interested in the new album, but it made me think that they're not running on fumes, or just doing it for the sake of doing it. CBS article

One of my favorite one-hit wonders:

Maker, I said your "more honest" statement was classic - that had nothing to do with your later clarification. No matter what Woody would think, calling Bragg's tunes more "honest" than Wilco's is laughable (and yes, frameable). And I'm no fan of "Secret of the Sea."

Instant classic.

Kevin Costner and Modern West (Music Farm)
Sir Stewart replied to Maddie Hope's topic in Someone Else's Song
I can imagine Costner covering "Somewhere Down The Crazy River" - shudder. -
Well this was pretty stupid. Some nice work from the leads, and the other high-schoolers had that Freaks & Geeks realism going on, but too many lame jokes, poor pacing and an overlong running time (two fucking hours!) sunk this one.

John Corbett's song includes: "If this is as good as it gets, then I think I'm good to go." What a twat. -
TEH DO TEH BIRTHDAY!

Vibeage! You can do it.

I thought Unbreakable was laughable when I saw it in the theater. Since then I've seen parts of it and have enjoyed it very much.

Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward = She & Him
Sir Stewart replied to Vacant Horizon's topic in Someone Else's Song
Yeah she did a great "Baby It's Cold Outside" both in the film and on the soundtrack (with Leon Redbone). -
So someone might rightfully call this thread better than the Nostalgia Thread?!?!?!
