from Billboard: http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/news/articl...t_id=1003633948 A possible Wilco project is mentioned in the article: "Canty will likely be involved in filming some Wilco shows next spring for an as-yet-unannounced project and has also scored the film "Indestructible," about a man named Ben Byar's struggle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease)."

13) Arrange all other dolls in your collection in a circle around Jeff doll. Immediately discard any doll that steps inside the circle.

At least he's not driving a pickup truck out of a volcano with lava and flying rocks and explosions and american flags and stuff listening to wilco. Wait a minute - THAT WOULD BE AWESOME

"We have very high standards we do not want to waver from," says Ms. Daoust. "...The John Candy stamp in particular proved to be a tremendous success," she says. -
Face the Music A New World Record Out of the Blue When I was 12, ELO was the first band I was into - I heard Mr Blue Sky on the radio, bought the single, then bought Out of the Blue. Then bought A New World Record, Face the Music, Eldorado, and Discovery when it came out a few years later. I even paid money for the Xanadu soundtrack. I then discovered the Ramones and punk rock (I was always late to the party) & my ELO collection gathered dust for years. I used to think of ELO's music as a guilty pleasure - sure most of the lyrics are trite and the faux orchestra/opera elements get a bit

Pilot was founded by two former members of the Bay City Rollers (one of whom died in 1989), and the band disbanded in 1978 - any talk of them selling out in 2007 is just dumb.

Pavement also wrote a whole song about REM's Reckoning - "The Unseen Power of Picket Fences"

Maybe it's the cowboy shirt, but that looks an awful lot like a slightly younger/thinner Kenny Rogers

Is "The Thanks I Get" even commercially available for purchase? I mean, most of the VC community are familiar with the song through various live recordings and the Tweedy solo dvd, so for most of us the song is already "out there". How perverse is it for Wilco to license a song that the listening public can't even buy?

For better or worse, commercial TV has become one of the few public forums where you'll occasionally hear snippets of good music. The radio? not so much.

For some reason the beginning of "Shake It Off" reminds me of "Retreat" from Minutemen's Double Nickels on the Dime - I think it's the phrasing of the vocs. Double Nickels also has a song titled Please Don't Be Gentle With Me - coincidence?
