  1. I think there was way too much going on on TV whenever an episode of True Detective was on the air. Golden Globes, SAG Awards, Critics Choice Awards, Super Bowl, Grammy's & Academy Awards. The only episode that I watched in real time was the penultimate episode (aired on Feb 17). So I sort of watched it any night of the week that wasn't on a Sunday except for the 2 episode premier night. I had to watch it after the Golden Globes. It got tough to really get into due to my viewing habits. I enjoyed it overall, but was swearing up & down when the first episode aired. Felt way too much lik
  2. https://www.bullmoose.com/p/29219529/bingo-hand-job-rem-live-at-the-borderline-1991-2xlp-rsd-2019-ltd-to-3500 R.E.M. Record Store Day release - Bingo Hand Job Live At The Borderline 1991. Lots of cool stuff this year. Bingo Hand Job was the alias that they used in London for a show. Lol.
  3. Had a ball with Miracle Workers which just premiered on TBS last week. It's a limited series (7 episodes) where Steve Buscemi plays God. It's from Simon Rich who did FXX's equally creative Man Seeking Woman. I'll post my thoughts on True Detective on Monday. Can't believe this season is already in the books after this Sunday.
  4. Agreed! Thankful that it's on iTunes and Spotify. I think I've seen the vinyl once. Pretty sure it never got a proper disc release. Here's the music video for Black Light. Extremely different than the last record. Steve Wynn's vocals first brought to mind Underworld's Karl Hyde.
  5. The film was released in 1997. Being There was out for 7 months. I don't think Wiki was around.
  6. Far, Far Away in Kiefer Sutherland's directorial debut Truth Or Consequences, N.M. I'm going through a 90s post Pulp Fiction phase. Interestingly enough the song is only credited as "written by Jeff Tweedy". There's no mention of Wilco, but it's practically the whole song from Being There.
  7. Yes, not only that, but this will take away all of this power that he was wielding over all of these women. There's no coming back from it. ^ This & I also listened to one of the voicemails that he left for a music journalist. He didn't like the review that he gave him & started questioning why he likes other artists' shows. He just sounded like a whiny little bitch.
  8. I have this weird vibe that he's going to kill himself. I enjoyed his music, but grew sick of his tirades. I hung out with him after his show at Hampton Beach, NH. My friend lent him his demos at the show before and wanted to give him some feedback on it. He even got to open for him a year later. Anyways, we hung around the tour bus and there was some young woman by herself that was only there because she had weed for him. Parker Posey called him & he walked off to talk to her. We were on the tour bus for maybe 5 minutes. He had a gaming system out back and his manager came to tell Ryan
  9. The lineup is going to be announced a week from today, according to the Solid Sound official FB page.
  10. I'm hoping for a lot of Summerteeth at Solid Sound. It should also be noted that U2's The Joshua Tree was also released on a March 9th.
  11. Yes, that's the best place to start. They only put out 4 records in the 80s & had one a few years ago. Plus, they put out a legendary live album: Live At Raji's. Here's another Steve Wynn side project: Steve Wynn & The Miracle 3.
  12. The Dream Syndicate just added 5 dates in May on the East Coast. D.C., PA, NYC (2 shows) and Somerville, MA. http://www.thedreamsyndicate.com/summertime.php I saved an image with a blurb about their new album due in April. I'm going to look for that now. The image won't load probably because I'm on my iPhone. The album is due in May & called These Times.
  13. Loved Stan & Ollie. Saw it a week ago. Thought it was perfectly cast. It was also really about trying to avoid being obsolete. I'll be back with my True Detective thoughts. Just wanted to remind some folks that this Sunday's episode is already on HBO Go/HBO Now because of the Super Bowl.
  14. We could vote for a setlist in realtime via cellphones. The band could give us 30 seconds to vote on 2 songs and then they can tell which one got the most votes.
  15. Yeah. It looks like they snuck in some pics from their 2004 taping which only aired as a half hour split episode with another band that escapes me at the moment. The 1999 show I can't find anywhere online. The 2012 show I still have saved on my DVR. Edit: OK. It looks like the ACL link has pics from all of the shows except for 1999.
  16. Anyone else NOT receive any email announcing these dates? If I wasn't on here or on Facebook, I would have never known.
  17. http://youtu.be/DSd2wvurFBE Yes. It was Can't Stand It. They played it with a few guys on violin. Cool hearing Jay Leno mention that they were about to start a world tour with R.E.M. in June of that year.
  18. http://acltv.com/episode/season-33/wilco-sky-blue-sky/ The songs are correct in the prior post, but here's the official PBS link.

  20. This thread gives me the courage to finally make a Mandela Effect thread.
  21. I just received this item. The cd is wrapped and the autographed booklet was out in the open in the package, but isn't destroyed at all. Weird to have 2 booklets, but I guess that it makes sense.
  22. That's awesome! Those Italians knew how to manipulate light. The original is such a colorful film and so well done. I didn't know of that event until Sunday evening. It popped up as a recommended event on FB.
  23. Another option is to just show up day of event and pay for parking and you can hear the band fairly well. This works well at Gillette Stadium.
  24. No. You were right. Suspirium is the name of the song & Suspiria is the name of the film.
  25. Yes. I was smart to go see it right away. It only lasted a week around here (Boston area). Amazon distributed it, so it'll be on Amazon Prime at some point next year. No idea how long the turn around is.
