I think it's a bit unfair to think that their "best" song writing days are behind them. I'm not sure why people tend to think that. Will Jeff Tweedy stop having life experiences to write about? The same goes for filmmakers, but it is a bit different. Auteurs like Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg have produced some of the best commercial films in the past 30 years. Art Of Almost might just be the sexiest track that Wilco has ever recorded. Really loved the whole thing on the 2nd listen. I'm more aware of the tracks that weren't played at Solid Sound. There isn't one track that I don't like. I need some time to get to know 12 new friends. Edit: Also, Whole Love is an amazing tune. Love it when it picks up in the middle. According to Wilco's Facebook update, West Coast shows will be announced for early 2012 "soon". I'm assuming they'll announce them after the 1st U.S. East Coast leg (which is early October). Then I'd expect shows in the Southeast in Feb or March.

I need to have Art Of Almost playing in my car on this holiday weekend, so that I can get pulled over by the police for speeding like a mad man. WOW! Listened to that one again and that solo is just face melting. You can't help but go over 100m.p.h with playing like that.

Art Of Almost = Holy Sheeeeeeet! I haven't been that excited since ..... I Might definitely sounds like a different mix. Sunloathe is very nice. Definitely very Beatles, Beach Boys and late 90s/early 00s R.E.M (Parakeet, At My Most Beautiful etc). Dawned On Me sounds so good. There really is so much going on in each song.
