:worship This song is always randomly playing in my head for very different situations.

Yes. A friend of mine posted his film trailer on youtube and I saw an ad that proclaimed Arcade Fire Live, so needless to say I still need to check out his stuff. I caught it during Intervention. I liked that the setlist was different than normal. I'm a bit upset that the archives only have stuff from Ozomatli, !!! and someone else. I'm sure they'll be adding sets over the coming weeks.

Good ears! It's nice to see you paying attention in multiple threads.

Random observation: It's a real sausage fest up in here. I remember catching Eva Longoria on Y & R about 10 years ago when I was home sick from college. I also remember Julianne Moore & Parker Posey on As The World Turns when I was being babysat by my aunt in the mid 80s. They always seemed to get the most beautiful women in one place.

In all honesty, I find all of this very fascinating. In the age of the DVR, I guess these shows just aren't cutting it for viewers. And that's what interests me most. Where have all the viewers gone? Has the social movement of women into the workforce caused the inevitable collapse of the daytime soap opera? It's possible, but why now all of a sudden? Why not 10 years ago or more? Is the interest still there? Have the primetime shows copied the daytime "soap" formula? Was it the "reality" show that killed it? I can understand the economics of producing a show year round without any breaks i

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HKsPbvOgPnQ So U2 has performed Zooropa in full twice now in Brazil. This makes its grand total 5 times it has been performed live. It was performed 3 times during U2's Zooropa tour in 1993 during their London dates. It was started from the "and I have no compass" part. It's nice to see them fully embrace this song. This tour has actually shaped up quite nicely. A lot of different songs (and new ones too) in the mix over 2 years. And they haven't hit North America again yet. Bono brought up Seu Jorge for an acoustic performance of The Model tonight in Brazil w

I was all excited to bring my jammies with me for Friday night, but then I realized that Pajama Party features Neil Finn. I think we'll get something with Tweedy on Sunday. Then again I'm under the assumption that one of the Wilco shows may end up being like the "Acoustic" set at last year's An Evening With shows. Or at least a good sized portion of the show. It's only a hunch and nothing else. Is anyone else a wee bit confused by the layout of this schedule. It's going to be a b***** to print out. Nevermind. I found a much larger print here.... Solid Sound Schedule magnified

I have been pretty lucky with all of my Wilco concerts that I've been to. No incidents or any talking during a show that was distracting enough to remember here and now to print it here for a story. The worst couple of experiences that I've had were coincidentally at the same venue in Boston at the Boston University arena (Agganis). I went to go see Duran Duran there in 2008 and I was late because of a T accident that held up my train. When I finally made it to my seat on the floor, these Real Housewives of Boston were after me to leave. They shouted obscenities at me and kept saying that t

I can't bring myself to vote for Ron Paul. From what I've seen of him he tends to run out on situations where he gets quite uncomfortable.

First, Crow Daddy you are not alone in your assessment. The NESN (red sox channel) commentators on Friday's opening day game were saying that it's pretty obvious that these "big" games act as an announcement that baseball is indeed back and we need viewers stat. What we lose as fans are games around Memorial Day or before the All Star break that might mean more at the time. I think this is three years in a row that the Red Sox and Yankees have met in the 1st week of play. It doesn't bother me too much. I guess I've come to expect it. I mean, two out of the 1st 3 series for the Sox felt like

I thought this too, but Fuse had the whole broadcast. I'm not sure if your local cable provider has that.

I'm assuming that's who she meant, when she made that comment. And it did make me laugh a lot. Hopefully, this is right.

Sparky, you're not thinking outside the box. Here's what you do: gather up Stallone and his Expendables and kidnap every professional athlete and rob them blind. Or at least drive them to an ATM. Then leave them stranded somewhere. I think that's a decent start, don't you? P.S. I think they shouldn't even bother with NHL players. Do they even make over a million?

Laminated Nap, if Dave Matthews threw his support behind a political candidate that you were going to vote for......... .......... ......... WHAT WOULD YOU SAY?!?!

Maybe. I'm going to ask Dr. Wookies. He should know the answer.

Pssst (shines a flashlight at jff) i think she used quotes because "more quiet" is proper English, but what do I know? I'm whispering right now. It's kind of like saying "fonder". Wait! Absence makes the heart grow fonder. Ok. The librarian is telling me to be quiet....but not more quiet.

"Singer Jeff Tweedy and his Wilco bandmates stage their second Solid Sound Festival 2.0 at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Arts in North Adams, June 24-26. Among the 18 acts are former The Band leader Levon Helm, soul singer Syl Johnson, Sonic Youth guitarist Thurston Moore and jazz trumpeter Dave Douglas. "We always talked about how much fun it would be if we could play together with all of these other entities," says Tweedy, who adds that the festival is small enough that fans don't have to worry about musical sets overlapping." How not to subdue a f*&^(ing CHILD
u2roolz replied to Good Old Neon's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
Here's how it might seem to some parents: When I hit my child, I am disciplining them. When I see someone else do the same thing, they are abusing them. Likewise, in my eyes any physical form of discipline is a form of abuse. The intent may be to discipline the child, but the action is the same as just abusing them. Although, from the child's point of view they may realize it or not that they are being disciplined. I don't know. I know of some young parents who will try and talk it out with their 3 year old and they end up acting like little terrors. You really can't verbally rationalize wi -
How not to subdue a f*&^(ing CHILD
u2roolz replied to Good Old Neon's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
What happened was pretty horrible, but it makes you wonder what would have happened if a parent did that to their child. How different would the punishment be for the adult? Here are some fairly recent examples of child abuse in many shapes and forms across the country. First, I was shocked to read the following about corporal punishment. "The St. Louis Times says corporal punishment is still allowed in about 20 states, many of them in the south. States began to get rid of the practice as the threat of lawsuits increased and research questioned how effective corporal punishment was. Th -

MLB Network is showing off their Extra Innings package this week. Check your local listings. It's pretty much every game via each team's broadcast network. You can see every game today, if your cable company carries MLB Network.
