Cynicicsm at it's finest Actually yes...I am an accountant, I work with accountants, the CEO of my company is an accountant as is the CFO and one division head. I am fairly familiar with them. Another profession to encourage young people to enter is Engineering which is also suffering a shortage here in America.

This generation entering the workforce is exactly what we made them to be. They are the offspring of what is probably the most affluent generation in US history. The middle class has done extremely well from the late 1970's until the mid part of this decade. We have given our children the upbringing we wanted them to have. Of course many of us have also bought off our kids and replaced parenting with consumerism. But regardless of how they were raised or who raised them, they are who they are and they are here entering the workforce. They are smart, tech savvy, consumers and far more indu

Have you tried Boone Missouri?

Articles like this make for cutesy reading and allow us to poke fun at those coming behind us, Just like my parents ridculed the baby boomers and the boomers look down on gen-x and the WWI generation looked down on the WWII generation prior to the war etc... We alwayys look at those that follow us and justify our superiority by thinking that our upbringing was somehow superior. However... this article flys in the face of what i have been taught. I've been to a couple of seminars about hiring employees intodays job market and among the many things that was pointed out is that this coming g

Conservatives happier than liberals?
John Smith replied to Good Old Neon's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
I wonder if the results of this survey would have been similar in 1993? 1960? 2012? Perhaps it is just a product of the times because even with democratic majorities in both chamers conservatives still are generally getting their wayin our government. Perhaps things will change in January next year, perhaps not, we willl see. -
Thanks, I'll see what I can get there

I don't believe that we are the only life form in the universe, but I also don't believe that Earth is being visited by so many various life forms all of whom seem to want to avoid official contact and who oh so frequently visit places where the witnesses to their arrival would be suspect. At some point you would think that these various visitors would want to somehow communicate with us. It would be interesting to know if the frequency of UFO claims has increased as man's grasp of technology has grown. Are there more "sightings" today than there were 60 years ago? 100 years? 200 years?

1. Rush is an f***ing idiot whose admirers always say they think for themselves, so if they followed his guidance, then they are in denial about thinking for themselves. 2. There is no way the DNC will be similar to chicago in any way shape or form. the only similarities are an extremely unpopular war and president. There is no draft, hennce no strong student/young people opposition to the war. Denver does nto have a mayor like Daily either. Daily was the US equivalent of a banana republic dictator who was nto going to have any unrest in his ciity so he quelled the unrest by uinleashing

If the cost is no different or pretty close I'll buy the combo's, but I usually never watch the DVD's. Don't watch much television anyway, so not watchign the DVD's fits in naturally. I've never even taken the DVD out of my Sky Blue Sky case, or My Live at Massey Hall package. Maybe someday, maybe someday...

I was at the Cubs/Cards game last night and have two things to say. First, watching Soriano play defense is maddening. Even on routine throws back to the short stop he is lazy and innacurate. His play on balls hit to him is not what I would normally consider to be professiobal calibur. Simply put this guy should be in the Al as a DH. Secondly Molina made possibly one of the best throws I have ever seen a catcher make when throwing out a base runner. From his knees, falling forward and on the money. i won't be forgetting tha play anytime soon.

The MSM would be the culprits if they knew at the time that these "analysts" were simply shills. I fully believe that some knew all the details (Fox comes to mind) and other knew vaugly of what was going on. The press are definately compliccit in the whoel thing, but the culprits are still the guys pulling the strings at the source of the information/propaganda chain. Granted the MSM is not as likely to investigate their own screw ups but it is sad that the general public is effectively uninformed on this matter. Uninformed by both the press and the adminsitration. And of course this issu

It is really too bad that this is pretty much a non-issue with the public and the majority of the press. But that might just go to show how well the administrations propaganda machine has worked and how we have come to expect this sort of thing out of them. But essentially we as citizens watch the news hoping to be informed. In this case the news providers consult with military people. We the lay people give these guys great credence when they speak and we are relying on them to give their unvarnished opinions. However once again we the people have been duped and the unvarnished opinions

Nevada's odd way to fix the state budget!
John Smith replied to remphish1's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
This stuff happens all the time. Usually the bereaved never know as the governing body quietly files a claim with the insurance company for recovery of their costs. We used to do it all the time when I was a rescue diver, our fire department does it. This is nothing new and pretty much a non-issue. -
*sigh* please educate me on what principles our nation was founded on? Tell me about Hamilton, Jefferson, Madison, Jay, Monroe, etc... and how they strove to create a christian nation in the image of god.. I'm dying to hear these fallicious arguments one more time.

To me this smacks of election year politics. What we may be viewing here is a wedge issue specifically designned to bring out the religious rigght, much the way the whole "gay marriage" issue was elevated shortly before the 2004 elections.

I might still have my vinyl copy of Snap somewhere. But solo Weller is great. My favorite of the bunch is the live "Days of Speed", good stuff.

What's the worst thing you ever ran thru the washer?
John Smith replied to kidsmoke's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
Worst thing? A green wool sock got in with a load of whites. Everything came out lemon yellow colored. -
I saw KISS and Peter Criss yelled out we love you Chicago right after he did Beth...Problem was that we were in Champaign. Gene and Paul ripped on him when they returned to the stage.

Not like I am and not the same stuff I like. For the most part she listens to it if it sounds nice to her ears and that is the extent of it. She coudl care less about places like this or about seeing the bands live. Pretty much a casual listener.
