this thread just sent me on a bit of a grant-lee binge here in the office. from grant-lee's site: a clip of him performing "raise the spirit" w/the section quartet. raise the spirit w/section quartet man. his voice just stops me in my tracks.

griddles, thanks for the post. i've been waffling (!) about seeing them this weekend here in la. the one time i've seen them i went having a couple of their records but knowing nothing about the live show. i had a blast. i'm in for saturday! woo! now, where is that cape?

what a fun back to back. btw--the last time i saw ac-dc someone lobbed a full jug of concession stand mustard into the crowd on the floor. that was why it was the last time i saw ac-dc. +/- 1984

argh! i got this email from kxlu and didn't look closely at the posters. erg. still, i spent a rocking night mopping the wood floors in my apt. YEAH!

i've never heard soul coughing, however, sebastian s. is a frequent player at largo here in l.a. last week i saw him bust out a fantastic "i put a spell on you" while playing the stand up bass. he's what the kids call a bad ass.

might i be a little snotty and offer up, "amatuer hour." and about those kids who ran up to the front from the back? jerks!

there was an interesting response posted in the page of the ticket news article. i don't know anything about how this business really works, or where the money goes, but i am happy to gripe about the fees. mostly my beef with ticketmaster comes with the monopoly they have over venues and ticket purchase options. that they don't always offer hard tickets by mail, but the only other option is the "print now" which carries a fee. and don't get me started on livenation. oof. (hey, remphish, thanks for the link)

wilco, 10.31.04 chicago auditorium! really fun to listen to this band playing just after ghost was released, and remember the films and graphics they were displaying at the time. this is also the night i met wendy!
