  1. My favorite is still All The Falsest Hearts Can Try. I hear great things about his upcoming solo record. Can't wait to hear it.
  2. Normally I'm not one to condone violence, but in this case, it was pretty awesome.
  3. Everyone on here should try to catch the Cave Singers sometime. Seriously. Here's a review I wrote.
  4. My Bloody Valentine is playing here tonight, but I'm not going. I bought Loveless in college and have never really understood what all the fuss was about.
  5. I've always thought the lyrics were referring to a dog or bear disturbing a hive to get at the honey and ending up with a bunch of bees up in their grill.
  6. A friend of mine commented on this video someone made for "Muzzle of Bees". I don't know the fella that made it, but I think it's kind of cool. Reminds me a lot of the educational films on Sesame Street.
  7. Wilco DVD Arcade Fire Special Edition DVD (Awesome packaging) Iron & Wine live CD Whiskeytown 7" Magnolia Electric Co. 7" Elvis Perkins 7"
  8. How is that? Tried to download the other night but had some technical issues.
  9. "That Girl From Brownsville, Texas" is one of my favorites.
  10. I don't get him, either. Of course, I also don't get skateboarding, which is what most of his songs seem to be about.
  11. M. Ward "Post War" or "The Transfiguration of Vincent" Bonnie Prince Billy "I See A Darkness" or "Lie Down in the Light" The best thing Lambchop have ever done is back up Vic Chesnutt on "The Salesman and Bernadette". I want to like them but I just can't get into Kurt Wagner's croak.
  12. I just think she has a pretty generic voice. If you go back and compare it to say, Steve's duet with Lucinda Williams on I Feel Alright, there's no contest. I enjoy some of the record, but I feel like maybe he's too close to the source to really do anything great with Townes material--most of these just feel like straight ahead covers, thought I do love the duet with his son on "Mr. Mudd and Mr. Gold." Personally I'd take the Phosphorescent Willie tribute anyday, and this is coming from a HUGE Earle fan.
  13. I'm fairly disappointed in this as much as I hate to admit it. I could pretty much go without hearing Allison Moorer ever sing on a Steve Earle song again.
  14. Very cool band. I don't have the new one yet but I loved the last record. Opened for them once in Dallas. Nice guys, too.
  15. Saw this guy last month in Denton. One of the best shows I've seen in a long time and easily the best one I saw last month, and that's counting M. Ward solo and all of SXSW.
  16. Girl is no longer in the band. Lots of meatheads here in Dallas still love them, though... Once upon a time "Tyler" was quite popular at my local roller rink.

  18. Just saw them play at SXSW billed as "Special Guests" at the Mohawk. It was epic.
  19. Any list that contains both System of a Down's Toxicity and Ben Folds' Rockin' the Suburbs is not worth reading. You gotta be kidding me.
  20. I was at this show, too. The acoustics were pristine. Loved every second.
  21. I think Woke on a Whaleheart is my favorite thing he's ever done, followed by A River Ain't Too Much To Love and maybe Dongs of Sevotion.
  22. How is that one? I only have Why Do Lonely Men And Women Want to Break Eachother's Hearts, which I think is easily one of the best pure country records of the last 10 years or so.
