  1. Hard ticket. Can meet up on North Side or before tomorrow or Saturday show.
  2. A friend just texted that Tweedy came out on electric for the start of the YLT set and they are now playing Jesus Etc!
  3. This is multiple levels of awesomeness
  4. As a neighbor, I usually get emails form the Cubs if they are planning additional concerts. Not artist announcements before the public. Just mentioning that dates are being considered. They could play the minor league park in Schaumburg that Dylan played several years ago, or the soccer stadium in Bridgeview.
  5. sec 5 row E or something like that.
  6. I also was at the Jacksonville Waits show, and July 1 is my birthday as well. Great birthday gift!
  7. This could be a serious problem for the local music scene if passed. EVERYONE SHOULD SIGN THE PETITION. ALL CHICAGO RESIDENTS NEED TO CALL THEIR ALDERMAN TOMORROW Find your alderman here: http://www.chicityclerk.com/citycouncil/alderman/find.html
  8. Exactly. If it was part of the ticket price, a percentage would go to the band or promoter.
  9. Sat. St. Louis presale was a breeze. Confirmation email arrived at 10:01am.
  10. Incredible CD So fired up for their Chicago show next week!
  11. http://www.thepageant.com/pageant.html Pageants website says Will Call is available 1 hour before doors open. That is good!
  12. Funny story....Once the Dead got the ear piece monitors, the soundcheck and show was sent on some radio frequency. There was a guy that could pick up the soundcheck with this giant radio and headphones. We often saw him on the way in and he would tell us what they soundchecked or make up something crazy. On March 19, we walked by the guy on our way to the seats and said: "What did they do?" "Unbroken Chain" "Yeah, right!" We kept walking. We had great seats about 15th row on the floor. The first 5 songs of the first set were nothing special, and the 5th song was Don't Ease Me In wh
  13. I don't think I knew about that show. I do wish the Wilco site would promote solo projects, and yeah, there is *nothing* stupid about the Hideout.
  14. I wish Jam would do that in Chicago. They only sell advance tickets without fees at their venues with a box office. The Riv and the Aragon only have a box office open an hour before showtime. If you want tickets in advance, you need to go thru TM.
  15. You can expect that! From what I read, I don't see the fees being less. Also, Live Nation will now have full control of the tickets. They plan to run their pricing like an airline. Prices can change at anytime based on ticket sales.
  16. Maybe. I don't see it. They mostly book their own shows, or work with some of the independent promoters in Chicago. The room is so well established and has a fantastic location. Tickets will still be available at the box office which is open more than not, and through a website. The only loss is outlets and large fees. Also, Live Nation is dropping Ticketmaster when their contract expires at the end of 2008. This represents 15% of TM's total revenue. Live Nation will be launching their own service in 2009.
  17. Why would their choice of ticketing system have an affect on their bookings?
  18. There was a late night sushi bar too. It was one of the only places serving food 'til 2am downtown. It was pretty good.
