  1. My apologies for copying your post again but I just gotta say that must have been a blast. Having seen Neil many times I really get a kick out of it when someone gets a chance to experience his magic live. It really sounds like you did. Dec.7 will be around my 80th Neil show and you have me completely stoked. A 1,000 mile road trip to see Neil is especially cool in my book. I'm only going 40 miles this time but I'd drive 1000 miles for this tour. Easy.
  2. I just received my copy of Chrome Dreams II from Warner Bros. First they tell me "maybe in thirty days" then I get it five days later.
  3. I'll take that same setlist in CT please.
  4. I swear Nels wore those same red pants when I saw him with The Geraldine Fibbers in 1997.
  5. Worst: Lupo's in Providence Rhode Island. Great show though. Way too crowded with a low stage on one side of a really long room. If you've seen show's in Providence The Strand would have been perfect in its day. Best: Irvin Plaza, NYC. Honorable Mention Best: Bowery Ballroom, NYC
  6. Just to clear things up I never said it was too short. Just short. Closer to 60 mins. than 80. I enjoyed every minute of it and left very happy. We drove 2hrs. both ways and would do it again. I would like to see Jason Molina solo sometime although the Netherlands is out of my reach. I won't leave North America for a show. Not even if it was 80 minutes.
  7. I saw Magnolia Electric Co. last night for the first time. Short but very sweet just like I expected from previous posts over the years from VCers.
  8. Wow. I really understand what you mean. The show I saw in Northampton had no "guidelines" but as we were leaving the show I said to my friend that that was a really good show, RA is a great songwriter but it felt like something was missing. I believe it was the Wilco "magic".
  9. Happy Birthday Bridget. Thanks for your musical generosity.
  10. Daniel Lanois also did some fine work on Robbie Robertson's self titled debut album and also on one of my all time favorites, Robertson's "Storyville".
  11. Sojourner. Only my second box set ever. The other being Buffalo Springfield. I'm so glad I bought this.
  12. Oh yeah. Those shows were fantastic. Lots of fun. Neil might have been trying to put the screws to Geffen on record but live Neil rocked the Eighties. I know I was there and I loved every minute of it.
  13. Great song from the Bluenotes Tour of 1988. Literally. Tweaked a couple of times for the album methinks.
  14. I just didn't see it billed as that on Ticketmaster. It kind of scared me at first.
  15. Get this. At the Chevrolet Theater in Wallingford, CT. where I go they have the show billed as Neil Young with Pegi Young. I'm looking forward more to the Jason Molina show than Neil Young.
  16. Thanks. I'm relieved it isn't CH.
  17. I just read where Crazy Horse is Neil's band for this tour. Anyone have any info?
  18. Wow. Those are SMALL venues. At least the ones I've been to. Better be on your toes if you want tickets. Good tickets anyway. P.S. I met Neil in Wallingford,CT.
  19. I've always found this interesting. Don't know if it's been posted here or where I got it from but its in one of my Neil folders. http://www.sidestreetrecords.com/articles/...romeDreams.html
  20. I saw Garth Hudson play with Wilco @ The Newport Folk Fest and it was ugly. REAL ugly. Kotche, Stirratt and Young.
