  1. He should do a comic OF Neil. That would be cool. Even for me Greendales a bit played out.
  2. I got fourth row center seats for The Calvin Theater. Row DD center section. My first Ryan Adams show since Whiskeytown.
  3. I never could get past the legos video or the red, white and black costumes.
  4. I have a really nice book collection but alas not a Potter to be found. I collect signed first editions with my rarest being Huxley's Brave New World, 1st Edition signed and numbered 101 out of 250 and published in 1932. Its value is estimated between 3-4,000.00 as it's in pristine condition. Now the weird world of books (or any supply and demand item I suppose). A signed copy of the first Potter book in which 500 books were printed the value is estimated at.......$37,000.00. Rowling or Huxley? In this case I'd take Huxley. j/k. I'd sell the Rowling and have a field day on ABE (American Boo
  5. It's no H.Potter but it is quite good.
  6. I have tickets for Northampton Ma. and the MEC box on preorder. Never having seen them or Jason Molina at all I'm seriously excited.
  7. Although I don't own any Nick Lowe I feel fortunate to have seen Rockpile open for Van Morrison and also Nick Lowe open for Elvis C. and also The Cars. I'll never forget Rockpile it was if it were last week. They were phenomenal live. So was Morrison. The Cars were quite lackluster standing there copying the records. Nick Lowe had Jools Holland on the keyboards. Needless to say I can't remember being around for The Cars' encore. Lowe and Co. stole the show.
  8. Jason's playing at a street fair Sunday afternoon (7/15) for free about a 10 minute drive from home. I'm hoping to pick up a copy of his new CD direct. It's in New London Ct. in the southeast corner of the state if anyone is interested. Some info in the link below. http://www.sailfest.org/stages.htm
  9. Wilco kicked some severe ass tonight. Highlights for me were Side With Seeds, Impossible Germany, Via Chicago, Poor Places, Sky Blue Sky and Jesus Etc. They played a couple of songs I'm a little burned out on but all told it was a great show by the best band in the land.
  10. It's been delayed because of the long awaited tour for Pegi Young, the new cd from Neil's wife Pegi. Young was heard to mumble "It's something she's always wanted to do".
  11. I doubt Nick had much of a choice in the using of his music to sell cars. He died 33 years ago.
  12. Still haven't seen the commercial yet. Edit:
  13. I've been to Old Quebec City and I'm going back. What about Neil? Def top ten. Edit: I spent my honeymoon in Canada and it was a great time, extremely beautiful!
  14. I'm in an up to and including "Some Girls" phase of The Rolling Stones. Today it's this gem.
  15. The Reducers, hometown heroes from New London, Connecticut. Chose not to put the bar code on their best CD. That in turn kept it out of all major retailers.
  16. Very nice letter. A couple of things though. Ninjas Liverwurst's avatar....not so good. Another thing, I wouldn't think the perfect jambalaya and the stomach flu would go so well together. Other than that it was a very nice letter with me agreeing whole heartedly with the Republican thing, and the have a nice tour thing.
  17. John Doe. Just saw him with The Knitters. The guy never seems to age, and that voice. He's a serious favorite of mine. I know the Minutemen song but seem to have missed the RHCP.
  18. Neil mentions Hendrix, Page & Zeppelin in "Downtown" from Mirrorball "Jimi's playin' in the back room Led Zeppelin on stage There's a mirror ball twirlin' And a note from Page" Also from Neil, "Hank To Hendrix" speaks for itself. And Neil speaks of John Lennon and the previously mentioned Bob Dylan on Greendale in "Devil's Sidewalk" and "Bandit" respectively: Lennon: "Big wheel keep rollin' Down on me. "One thing I can tell you, Is you got to be free." John Lennon said that. And "I believe in love." And I believe in action When push comes to shove." Dylan: "No one can touch you
  19. Thanks Brendan, I missed this the first time around. Glad I got to see (and save) it.
  20. Nice. Thanks for posting. This info led me to the MEC site then to the tours page then to buying two tickets to finally see the band. It isn't till October but it's at the Iron Horse in Northampton MA. Anyone who's ever been there will understand my excitement.
  21. I started with A.M. the 1st album but fell in love with Wilco through Being There the 2nd album. It's how I started and I'm hooked. You can always do a little bit of research maybe through Amazon because each album is quite different and you might just find one that hits the style of music you prefer. Hope that helps. Also I'd save the Mermaids for last.
