  1. My bad. I was thinking long breaks between albums. Stupid me.
  2. I haven't seen Wilco in a year and they're playing like 10 new songs. That's not bad.
  3. I think the Cardinals are the perfect backing band for this great album. I would hardly call it overproduced. I think you can feel Ryan's influence here and there, but it is a good, refreshing sound for Willie. It sounds just country enough to restore any lost faith I had in him from that Reggae experiment a few years back.
  4. Camper Van Beethoven Key Lime Pie - 1989 New Roman Times - 2004
  5. I like the houses that give out regular sized candy bars. My son got 2 tonight: Snickers and Hershey bar. He also went alone. Well, with mom and dad, and got numerous handfuls from houses. Just a little strategy for next year.
  6. Nice to hear Willie do Stella Blue. One of my all time faves.
  7. I love my records. However, keep in mind that you have to flip records to hear the other side, unlike cds. Also, some records have only 15-20 minutes per side. This is my biggest argument against them as I like to listen to music when I am working on projects or cleaning house. And 4 sided albums can be a real pain in the ass.
  8. No. He's back in San Pedro right now doing his local thing. He played this weekend with Banyan in L.A. and Long Beach.
  9. Wilco keeps taking Nels on tour to distant lands. Banyan just isn't the same without: and, of course, Watt.
  10. This one never gets old to me: I turn up Alsatian Cousin and...
  11. Please, please, please...if you live in SoCal and love beer...try the double IPA entitled "Hopjuice" by Leftcoast Brewing Co. They brew for Oggi's and Padres/Chargers. Seriously, the shit's too good. Quite possibly the best American beer I've ever had. It just recently won a bronze medal at the Great American Beer Festival. Be careful though, it's a 9% alcohol content and will 'F' you up really quick without you knowing it. =
  12. I didn't care for them too much. I feel their music is too straight forward rock n roll. That kinda bores me. I heard a lot of great things about them going in but was not too impressed. Even after a few drinks. Just my opinion.
  13. I'm going to see her in a few weeks and wanted to see if anybody out in VC world is a fan. I put on Catalpa at dusk tonight and it totally hit the spot. If you are a fan, what are your favorite records/songs of hers and why? Her music does something special for me and I'm curious to know what others feel.
  14. Did you mean early to mid to late 90's? I've never heard of 'em but I'll definitely check 'em out.
  15. Are all those guys with the last name Taylor related? I always wondered. When I was 11 I loved them. I still have Rio on vinyl.
  16. How do we know he remembers the lyrics? I saw him last weekend in San Diego and he was VERY hard to understand. The show was great though. He played a bunch of Highway 61 and some great new songs. It was a short show and I didn't think the setlist was much different than the last couple times I've seen him. Glad I went though.
  17. Same here. Maybe I should try again.
  18. I love KT and listen to it regularly. Nels Cline shines on Muzzle of Bees and his lap steel on One by One is simply beautiful.
  19. I saw them and Camper Van Beethoven a couple moths ago and really liked both bands. Camper opened and got weird with it which was a treat to my ears. Cracker came out and rocked. Their only moment of weirdness was when the keyboard player came out center stage with an accordian and took a long, inspired solo during "Eurotrash Girl". That was fun.
  20. I like that "Oh Cracker Where Art Thou" record they did with Leftover Salmon.
  21. "You Got a Friend in Me" - Randy Newman (from Toy Story) "Eyes of the World" - Grateful Dead
