I predict there will be a small handful of faithless electors, or maybe just one or two, but nowhere close to enough to matter.
-
Pence is going to be the acting president no matter what happens, so I don't see much of a difference.

I believe they only have the first two or three episdes posted so far. There will be eight in total, but they're rolling them out as they air.

If you have Amazon Prime, it's streaming for free. PBS is supposed to have it online, too. I really enjoyed ep. 1, and am looking forward to the whole series. Warren Zanes' blog about the first episode is a good read. http://www.pbs.org/soundbreaking/blogs/inside-look/searching-for-the-perfect-producer/

I saw Counting Crowes open for Cracker at the 40 Watt in Athens. They got pretty huge right after that, while Cracker went the opposite way.

Almost that time of the year. Top 10 albums of 2016

Angel Olsen - My Woman Wilco - Schmilco Big Thief - Masterpiece Omni - Deluxe Cate Le Bon - Crab Day Ty Segall and the Muggers - Emotional Mugger Nels Cline - Lovers Eleanor Friedberger - New View Charles Bradley - Changes Morgan Delt - Phase Zero (this one is still growing on me, but it picks up steam with each listen) I'm a little disappointed in some of the records I picked up this year, for different reasons: PJ Harvey, Car Seat Headrest, Seratones -
If you don't vote, you're not a voter. Clinton got the majority of votes from the voters in this election. That is a fact.

We used to see Deerhunter all the time in tiny clubs. God, they were a shitty band back then. Atrocious. Somewhere along the way they figured out how to write melodies. Oh... I shared a stage once with Explosions in the Sky before they took off. Probably the friendliest group of musicians I've ever met.

Drive By Truckers playing for seven people at Dottie's Bar in Atlanta. Foo Fighters opening for Mike Watt, Masquerade Atlanta. Kings of Leon opening for the Strokes Is This It tour. Derek Trucks opening for Col. Hampton and the Aquarium Rescue Unit. Medeski Martin and Wood playing at a tiny coffeehouse. Phish's supposedly legendary Roxy run. Not sure if that counts since three nights at a 1,000 capacity theater hits the 3,000 threshold.

Eric Burdon and "the Animals".

This is one of my favorite albums of the year.

https://reverb.com/item/1401563-partscaster-esquire-owned-by-pat-sansone-of-wilco The Sansone Esquire looks pretty sweet. I might have jumped on that had I known about it. Actually, just about everything in the sub-$1000 range is tempting.

Yeah, I was just being flippant.

I don't remember what the previous three were, but I agree. I thought the single from Mojo was really strong, but the rest of it felt like generic blues jams. I listened to Hypnotic Eye this weekend and really enjoyed it. Some of it sounds like the record Ric Ocasek produced for Guided By Voices. Mike Campbell really shines on that one.

I don't know about much ado about nothing. Every TV news outlet is still reporting it as if it's a hot controversy.

"Each purchase includes a vinyl copy of Wilco’s Star Wars, a new album featuring 11 original songs. 180g vinyl available now." That implies they have a bunch of these that they're willing to sell at that price.

LOL, yeah. I was thinking more like they could use it as an example of government overreach by Obama's (and by proxy, Clinton's) department of justice. And on that note, they could also tie that in what's going on with the ND pipeline protests. In addition to that, the whole "Look how many events we're doing compared to low energy Hilary...we're so busy our planes are flying off the runway" which de-robot-izes Pence a great deal, and makes him something of a sympathetic character. I'll bet Trump/Pence will get a significant boost from this. Maybe enough to win some swing states.

Remember when TP put his career on the line in an effort not to gouge his fans? That guy seems to have had a change of heart.

I've had most of his records for years, but I realized the other day that I've never owned Full Moon Fever. I had planned to go out this weekend to buy it, but discovered it's out of print and vinyl copies are in the $50 range on the used market. So, I bought it new on CD for $4 from Amazon. It's kind of shocking to me that an album that was that successful was allowed to go out of print. I'll bet if they had simply repressed Damn the Torpedoes, Wildflowers, and Full Moon Fever as individual albums, they'd make more money then they'll make off these box sets.

Bundy gang found not guilty by a jury in federal court. I have a sinking feeling that this is going to be a major boost for Trump, if anyone on his team is smart enough to use it to their advantage.

Jim Keltner being on this record is a promising sign.

I haven't heard it, but the new songs sounded good at the show. I've never really followed this band, but I was surprised that I knew so many of the songs. They put on a fun show.

My opinion is probably based on having seen her perform as a solo artist so many times when she was in Atlanta. Her recordings have never really captured what made her a good live performer. I'm sure that's true for a lot of artists, but I haven't seen most artists numerous times before hearing their recordings, so I notice this phenomena more with Kelly than I do with other musicians.

I've been following Kelly Hogan's career since her days in Atlanta with he Jody Grind in the '80s. She's always at her best in group settings. Something about her recorded output under her own name always falls flat, and I haven't really been able to put my finger on why that is. Maybe she just makes a better team player than boss. Anyway, for that reason, this release is one I have high hopes for and will make a point of checking out.
