just read that the film will be part of the American Masters series on PBS this May. I'm not very surprised that it didn't get any theater distribution, doesn't seem like something the masses will cling to even with Johnny Depp behind it. the soundtrack for the film should be out in the near future and will, reportedly, feature some cool, unreleased stuff. in other Doors news, I was able to persuade Doors' manager, Jeff Jampol, to release some live shows on vinyl a couple of years ago. Absolutely Live is getting the reissue treatment as well as the January 17, 1970 Felt Forum, NYC gig. b

there's a band called Additional Moog based in the UK who sound similar to Wilco. John Stirratt is a fan and has openly praised their music. check out this 30 sec. clip: Additional Moog- Four-Track Soul

let's do this!

the Curator's Choice over at archive.org last night was a Boston show, forget the year, think '71, that was a really cool sounding matrix recording. the audience recording was mixed higher than usual which gave it this nice, warmer dimension.

The Long Cuff is an early Uncle Tupelo demo of The Long Cut. I've heard it. the lyrics go something like; "c'mon, just wear the long cuff, I think that's what your ensemble needs."

be careful, Analogman. you have just offended 1/3 of this country's population.

they just put Jimi Hendrix's catalog up a week or so ago and had all the albums on sale for 12 credits. they still may be on sale, not sure.

Joseph Arthur just announced a new solo album. it'll be his first since 2006's Nuclear Daydream. and I really, really hope Ryan Adam's PAX-AM label rolls on through 2010. on a side note, he was recording with Jesse Malin late last year so they may put something out.

didn't they record this show for HBO? if so, have you watched it, remphish1? would be cool if you could spot yourself in the crowd.

dude, you're so lucky! this was my first Wilco boot back in '02. I listened to it alllllll of the time. being that I only owned YHF and BT, a lot of the show's songs were new to me, namely the Uncle Tupelo ones, but they all sounded great. New Madrid def. sticks out in my mind as being impressive from that evening. didn't they do 'Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow?' at this show?

after my presale ticket insanity, I got shut out of Durham as well after letting go of 2 tix due to bad location.

I registered on the site and received the confirmation e-mail with my password in it at 9:48 am. I do remember the seating info and have sent them an e-mail with all of the information in it. I think I'm going to try for tickets again in the morning when they go on sale to the public. as bad as I hate going through all of this drama again, it seems like the most logical thing to do. if I fail again in the morning, I will mosey on down to my local pub, have a handful of drinks, sign on to ebay and buy a front row ticket for a few hundred bucks. edit- thanks for the #. think I'll go ahead and

thanks for the reply. no, it's not in the junkmail folder unless it's hiding behind a viagra/ enlargement title. I'm trying to keep my cool but this site has to be the crappiest place on the net to order tickets. I'd have better luck putting some money in a dog's collar and having it wander off. my chances of it coming back with Wilco tickets would be greater than getting them from this place. for the site to screw up and sign me off after I had 2 tickets was one thing, but for me to have actually ordered a ticket and the site have no record of me having done so is something else. I should h

after buying this ticket, nothing is coming up in my order history nor did they send me an order confirmation. I'm assuming the rest of you got order confirmations?

omg. I had tickets on the presale and the stupid website signed me off?!!! it said something like, "thank you, your tickets have been purchased and we're experiencing high volumes of people so we signed you off." but the catch is I never entered my credit card info in so the tickets were never purchased. low and behold, 1 ticket was left when I was finally able to get through all of the security barricades and sign on screens. guess I'll be flying solo to the Durham show. got center orchestra row R which is pretty good.

I've read that seeing this in 3-D is the way to see it. never really heard that about any other movie before so there must be a little truth in it. I watched it at a standard theater and was really impressed. the dialogue may have been slightly lame and predictable, however it was still great fun. what wasn't great fun were the idiots in front of us who thought they'd be uber-hipsters and snap photos of themselves throughout the film... with the flash on. I have no pity for people any longer.

after a little over 3 years, Fionn Regan will be returning with a new album! looks like it'll be out on March 2, 2010 in Europe. I haven't seen a US release date yet. in the meantime, I was able to track down his various EPs and will be enjoying them, and The End of History, until March. anyone else here a fan? I probably wouldn't have ever heard about him if I hadn't been in Ireland in 2006. an old friend took me to a show in which he was the opening act. his performance caught me off guard and I was won over in an instant. I've included a music video below for anyone interested. http://

Jeff covered Elizabeth Cotten's 'I'm Going Away' during a Raleigh, NC gig in '06. well, it wasn't the whole song but a good portion of it.

I still buy CDs but tend to refrain from buying new releases unless it's something I know I'll love. for example, I just bought 3 older albums by Josh Rouse on Amazon last night and when shipping was calculated into the total, I had spent $13. I could have went to my local CD store, spent an additional $5 and only have purchased one of these CDs. I hate to see these CD stores going under but the corporate music gurus are doing it to themselves. as the consumer, we'll always have file sharing sites, CD burners, etc. for them to keep the prices of CDs so high is just so illogical that I don't

I discovered Rouse not too long ago and have enjoyed Home immensely since then. for one reason or another, I never ventured into any of his other releases until last night when I came across Under Cold Blue Stars at the used cd store. the guy is very talented and seems like someone one should hear about more often.

that one song by Bob Dylan, Like a Rolling Stone, is pretty juvenile. my 4 year old nephew could write something like that in 10 mins. in all honesty, I can't think of any lyrics that rub me the wrong way. I tend to over analyze everything so lyrics never really bother me.

so sad. this is from a sorta recent interview with Aquarium Drunkard; VC: Well, this song just kind of happened. It is very personal. During run-through, when I was showing it to everyone, in the first couple of takes, I had tears in my eyes. It was very emotional to me. I’d never sung this song out – it was only on paper. But when I sing it out loud, it was very emotional for me and very personal. I wanted to write a song about a suicidal person. It’s about me – I have suicidal tendencies. So it’s about a suicide who wanted to live. AD: The song does, lyrically, migrate from the line abou

how great would it be for Wilco to bust out I Wanna Be Your Dog> Dancing Queen during an upcoming encore?
