  1. I picked up the set today and am loving it! being that I never had the chance to see these guys play, these releases are the next best thing. I can feel the magic of the show while watching it and can't help but smile. one particular moment struck me during Stuck Inside of Mobile... when the camera was behind Brent and the wind was blowing through his hair. I can only imagine how it must of been at a GD show for those of you who were lucky enough to have made it to a show (or 36). the show itself is quite solid so far. haven't quite made it into the last set. I've read mixed reviews but ove
  2. these networking sites are instant relationship crashing devices. from my experience, it's wise to only use them if you're single. it's a small world but a huge internet.
  3. that is a very kind gesture. something tells me that the Kung Fu store will be out of them soon and that we'll have at least a good 3-5 threads created on here by users looking for the set.
  4. I'm pretty sure it's on Capital Boulevard. I've spent the bulk of my life here and still have no idea where I'm at. I didn't know Durham had a record store! sounds like I need to head out that way sometime soon.
  5. looks like you got some good stuff! I may go to Schoolkids on Weds. and see if they have anything left. if not, they def. have some stuff I'll end up buying their vinyl collection is quite nice. did you try calling Edward McKay to see if they have what you're looking for? not sure if they participated in RSD this year but I know they did last year.
  6. no, no poster guess that's why it was so cheap. as for the remastered songs on YouTube, there's an Apple logo on the pic of the band which accompanies every song. wonder if they have a hand in this or if YouTube is scared to take it down in fear that it's legit.
  7. wow, can't believe someone actually took all that time to upload those. they'll be pulled in hours, if not sooner. edit- in semi-related Beatles news, I came across the 3 lp set of All Things Must Pass at the flea market yesterday. the guy sold it to me for $15!!!
  8. there will soon be a WWIII in which the world will eradicate the ignorant Americans. time to move to Canada!
  9. The Sex Pistols fueled my years of teenage angst so this news is saddening for me. despite the fact that I never really admired the guy all that much, his contributions to the punk scene are undeniable. wonder what Mr. Rotten will say about this?
  10. a friend took me to a McDonald's in Paris one night as she wanted a drink and it was the only place open that had alcohol. you can only purchase beer there with food so I got a couple of free hamburgers, haha. as an American who grew up on McDonald's, I had a birthday there once, this was the weirdest thing to see.
  11. oh heck yeah, a summer '89 show! was just watching a clip of Bertha from a show around this time and loved it. not to mention that Truckin' Up To Buffalo video. Brent was such a positive influence in the band. the energy from this time was phenomenal.
  12. in all honesty, I get that mushy feeling inside whenever I listen to their music. just put on W(TA) a few minutes ago after not having listened to it for some time and it just amazes me. that feeling also hit me hardcore when Jeff mused about the band being like family after a song in Myrtle Beach back in '05, then they proceeded to play a rousing rendition of New Madrid. I got a little teary-eyed
  13. I haven't dabbled much in post-Beatles Paul but seeing him live sounds like a lot of fun. that's a killer setlist, btw. it's times like this that I wish I was still down in southern Florida.
  14. unfortunately, I did not attend this show my work schedule conflicted with me attending but I was totally there in spirit! sounds like everyone had fun and I'm super-stoked that you all got Summerteeth , When The Roses Bloom Again, and When You Wake Up Feeling Old! so, so lucky
  15. every time I see a trailer for this movie on tv, I find myself needing to see this movie more and more. and I don't even like going to the movies all that much (unless its to see Anne Hathaway )
  16. I'm fairly certain that Ryan told us over at RAA that Lost Highway gave him all of his material after he decided to leave the Cardinals. I'd be happy if we ever get to hear the actual Dear Impossible recordings, not demos, and the rest of that Hope album. Cardinals III/IV would be cool, too.
  17. from Ryan's Facebook: "Congrats Jamie C... After 4 years of production work we finished the infmous never-ending BLACKHOLE Record tonight! What a trip! Big love to the Candyman... WOOP WOOP ( or woot wut or something one of those kind of football noises here!!!"
  18. anyone remember that thread from a while back where someone broke down the KT cd track listing to a probable vinyl track listing? just wondering if they nailed it or not.
  19. this is insane! we were just talking about this a while back. once again, the Wilco gods have listened to us down below. it's good to be a Wilco fan.
  20. I dunno, I sorta like that song on his website. it's like Rock N Roll on a few sugar-free Red Bulls.
  21. I heard the Arcade Fire cover on the radio today and was really impressed with it.
  22. one can almost compare this dissonance to Jackson Pollock. watching him paint may be a little nerve racking, perhaps it may come off as sloppy and cheap, however its hard to deny the beauty of the finished piece. Via Chicago needs dissonance like I need coffee in the morning. some things just have to happen. then again, I can see why some may be put off by it. that's the beauty of Wilco. they satisfy all of our needs. btw, awesome post, lost highway!
  23. its kinda weird imagining Dylan giving this stuff away. I guess once the song was recorded, the handwritten lyrics didn't mean much to him anymore. just looking at these scanned images gives one goosebumps! btw, he's got some of the funniest handwriting I've ever seen. when you think of Dylan, the songs, the words, the man, a certain image is conjured up in your head. and then you see his handwriting... haha. I can say this because I have some of the worst penmanship known to man.
  24. Check Out This Auction!!! Ballad In Plain D AND Just Like A Woman handwritten lyrics! plus some other cool things...
